Murtha faces little backlash from constituents
From Mark Preston
CNN Washington Bureau

Tuesday, November 22, 2005; Posted: 10:19 a.m. EST (15:19 GMT)

Rep. John Murtha, D-Pennsylvania, is expected to easily win re-election next year.
SPECIAL REPORT

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The combination of a distinguished military career and an ability to deliver federal dollars to his western Pennsylvania district is shielding Democratic Rep. John Murtha from criticism back home over his recent assessment of the Iraq War.

:wtf: Why would he face backlash for saying what his constituents already know and support? CNN is desperately trying to spin this one.

2. CNN is desperately trying to spin this one ...
... that's what happens over there when there isn't a plane in the air with malfunctioning landing gear.

4. We love him here in W. PA. Maybe a few here and there who don't, but
he is loved by most around here. I met him at a local ceremony and he is very approachable and polite. I write letters and he answers every one in a sincere way. He remembered it when I told him I wrote him about an issue ( environment). He is on our side in cleaning up the environment, too. A regular guy.

5. Why would he? As if there is anybody who wants to stay in Iraq
so that GIs can continue to get killed for nothing.
