5. In-your-face extremism pays
Right-wing extremism anyway. Look at The Chimp. He kept pushing to the max - on everything from tax cuts for the rich to raping the environment to price protection for the drug companies. Not to mention invading a certain Arab country for no good reason.

And guess what? He may not have gotten 100% of what he wanted, but at least 70-80%.
