How about we Revolt/March against the US Government..?
We have the Enron's, Haliburton's, the MCI's and so much corruption.
We have oil and natural gas prices that are way too expensive and oil executives getting rich by putting us in the poor house.
We have a president who's whole term is based on lies and ton's of corruption within the government as well.

I'm sure there is so much more that can be said by members here and I would like to hear it.

We should join Cindy Sheehan as well as other groups in a "billion person" march on Washington. Obviously their are people getting away with murder. Individually the Government can laugh us off but together as "One Nation", we can make out voices heard!

Has anyone felt the same? Can this be arranged? I'm in!

4. It's the only way. DLC won't save us.
The system only works if you stuff millions of dollars into the slot. The solution you suggest works if you stuff millions of people 'peacefully' into the streets.
Tell me how the corporate strangle hold can be broken if they own the government and the courts. We the people have to say, "We don't want to play anymore."
We could avoid the streets and vote a thousand Wellstones into office but the media belongs to 'them.' Can't play if you don't have 'meedeeah'
Believe me I started out as naively optimistic as anyone could be in this country. What I see now is hopeless if we continue per usual.
These are unusual times. We need some unusual solutions. I have kids. I don't want to risk their future or safety but I don't want their future to disappear without a fight either.
The spirit was there in the '60's. Don't laugh. It was real people power. What happened to the spirit. Did Game Boy take it ALL?

2. Welcome to DU!
:hi: I think it would be hard to get 4 times the population of the country to march anywhere, but, if you organize a march, I'm sure a few of us will be there

5. Oh, I don't know about that
I'm sure we could get ahold of the Republican voter registrations. There are four times more of them than there are Republicans.

3. "Revolt"?
Edited on Wed Dec-07-05 07:42 PM by Sapphocrat
Use the word "revolt" and I am definitely OUT. I don't feel like spending the rest of my life behind bars, thanks.

Peaceful demonstrations are another thing -- although I think you're being optimistic about a "billion person" march on Washington, unless you plan to fly in about 999,000,000 foreigners for the occasion. ;)

On edit: Typo

6. How about we ((March)) against the US Government..?
Too late to change it to take out "revolt", I tried.

Thanks for all your replies. Niallmac, I too am concerned about my kid(s)... currently I only have one :-) I just wonder what the world is going to be like for him. I do know that my wife and myself have good jobs and it is a struggle to get by (in NY). Right now we are buying a house in the Midwest and selling our home in NY.

Bush's legacy will continue on well past his time in office, he is going to leave the country bankrupt, even though technically it already is. The damage is done to our economy and with our foreign relations... this totally sucks and the guy can't even admit that he has made any mistakes.

9. What about the hundred-million march then?
That would be 1/3 of the country (I just looked it up - there's approx. 295,734,134 people in the US).

8. I've been waiting for someone to organize a march
Edited on Thu Dec-08-05 04:01 PM by AZBlue
A big one. A national one. Being from AZ it's hard to organize, but I'd still help out.

Or, maybe we should organize one in every state? A march on the capital there, all at the same time. I do special events and marketing for a living...let me at it!!

And, yes, I'm in agreement that it should be peaceful. Gets the message across instead of turning others against it. March, not revolt.
