Video from CNN with Dean this morning....I feel less discouraged.
http://www.cnn.com/video/

Look under Politics on the left. The transcript did not get across how good an interview it was. I don't feel so discouraged now.

The transcript sounds apologetic, the video doesn't.

3. Thanks for posting this - Listening to the Video is FAR BETTER than
merely reading the transcript.

But the campaign to disparage Dean is really disgusting, slimy politics.

Dean was always right, and he speaks for me on Iraq. I don't agree with him on Afghanistan and so called "war on terra" , a largely invented bogeyman.

Truth on 9/11 puts the lie to all of the rhetoric from the dems and the repukes about this so called war on terra.

we are the terrorists.

4. It is a huge difference indeed.
I even felt the transcript and statements Karen Finney put out were not effective. The video is very effective.

Amazing how it works. I usually can tell from a transcript, but this one fooled me.

6. I thought Miles was trying hard to capture a "media moment"...
..that they could replay continuously for the next 3 weeks, but it just didn't happen. Dean did (I thought) a really good job!

You could almost sense the frustration with Miles O'Brien. He had that  "Dammit, that went too well" look on his face..

8. I agree - we'll see hard the MSM will try just the same.. who would have
thought that Murtha's press conference could be spun so pathetically false? Chris Matthews continued for weeks to say that Murtha was demanding an "immediate pullout" - and then Republican Duncan Hunter's resolution for an immediate pullout on that friday night, was constantly mistated as Murtha's resolution.

We need to show how much the MSM is on the GOP payroll.

7. I have seldom seen such a gap between a transcript and a video.
Dean did a very good job handling O'Brien's attempts to manage the conversation.

22. I'm surprised anybody can stand to still watch CNN
The on air "talent" is made up of a bunch of painted up tools that too often can't keep their snide comments to themselves. Those actually doing the writing and reporting don't seem to be doing much other than reading reports from the AP or Reuters. CNN, CNNHN, and MSNBC are pretty much as useless as :30 second radio news updates now.

9. This battle is going to get ugly.
And I am on board with it. Kos is frontpaging a diary quoting Rollcall telling Dean and Lieberman to hush.

No, sir, Senator Reid. Lieberman can talk, Dean can talk.. Let's stop this trying to squelch dissent.

Talk about divisive and ugly? It was frontpaged today of all days. Hurting the party.

12. Here is the link.
I saw no need for this to be done on this day. Divisive. It is Kos's blog, and he can do what he wants. But this person is being recommended for front page.

This is the DLC talking using Reid's voice, and saying sit down until we tell you what to do..

I hope Dean keeps talking.

14. Honestly mad, I see it more as an attack on Lieberman than
Dean. Dean is barely mentioned. Sounded more like Reid cautioning Lieberman, and Dean's name was thrown in for umph.

25. Actually, it is also an attack on Murtha or anybody who wants to go
further than criticizing Bush on Iraq. The theory is that we do not need to offer a solution because Bush is in power.

24. I totally agree with you -
I certainly hope that everybody who wants to propose something on Iraq continues to talk. We cant wait for input.

Sadly, Feingold and others had advocated that the Democrats in the Senate debate on Iraq. It seems if this article is correct that Reid has decided otherwise (probably pushed by some people who do not want to offer anything). I just hope this is not true.

27. What Kos says is right on...both leiberman and Dean
were wrong with what they said, but for different reasons. Lieberman is a kiss-ass, Dean is a speaker of the truth(for the most part) but lacks tact.

There is a lot more to human interaction than words. There are vocal intonations, facial expressions, body language - all figure in heavily in the process of communication.

16. Okay, I watched it and
Dean was Freakin' Brilliant..now I know why I don't pay any attention to the opinions of those who thought he retreated or didn't get his message out properly.

"I'm with Jack Murtha"!..and the Democrats care about the Soldiers.."Stop making our Troops the Target"!

"It's not unpatriotic to talk about the president's(sic) failed strategy"

"Bring 50,000 guard troops home and redeploy 20,000 to Afghanistan."

"matt lauer showed a clip of bush saying we couldn't win in Iraq".

"It's press gobbleygook that the Democrats don't have a plan..they want to focus on the differences".

There were so many gems..I'm really happy to see this video myself..thanks madfloridan!

By the way..lieberman looked to me like a whining sick fuck up there.

He just doesn't look like one he IS one. Dean did well in this little interview and didn't let the guy draw him into making mistakes.

"I'd also like to say that whatever it is that Howard Dean knows, or whatever it is
that he eats for breakfast every morning, if I could give it to every other Democratic
office holder and would-be office holder, we would immediately become the majority
in the Congress and we would have about 35 governors."

26. Tonight Tweety Agrees With His Guest When They Said That
Bush's BEST friends are Dean, Pelosi & Reid!!

We can NEVER make them understand as long as they keep BASHING "sound bites!" It makes me sick!

The WH is now ACTUALLY talking about "drawing down" troops in Iraq! I DON'T think I HEARD anything like that from them a short 3 weeks ago!!!

We need to OUT-SPIN them someway! We Are Correct!! And We Have Been Saying It MUCH LONGER!!!

Good interview, the distancing needs to stop.

If the party wants unity, then they must stop distancing themselves.

Salazar Brothers disagree, Harold Ford really distances, and Earl Pomeroy says "shut up". Lieberman..well he is just being Lieberman.

I have had it with everyone here telling us to quit criticizing, while these so-called Democrats run like scaredy-cats.
