"We begin with President Bush flirting with a comeback of his own..."
Note from B_E_B: I don't understand why K.O. is putting the "Bush numbers up because of the economy" line out there without questioning it, but he is. I guess everybody's back to work at a job that pays a living wage and I just missed it.

"But we begin with President Bush flirting with a comeback of his own, the president‘s job approval numbers improving significantly in the latest “New York Times” poll, 53 percent disapproving of his job performance. That is down from 57 percent one month ago.

Of course, that is due in large part to the state of the economy, and evidently not at all to the state of the war in Iraq, a majority of Americans now calling in this poll for some sort of timetable for troop withdrawal, 32 percent wanting a reduction in the number of troops, 28 percent wanting a total pullout, 24 percent looking to keep troop levels where they are."

1. Just Reporting Reasons Being Given....
It does nothing to change the facts, which is that our economy is screwed. Except for those at the top of course. The public is just too stupid to realize it yet.

3. Watch for the fine print on these 'latest' poll results ...
... they probably say, in teeny-tiny print somewhere:

"Margin of Error + or - 45%."

6. What Comeback, Keith, He's mired at 37% in my book...

"The telephone poll of 1,155 adults across the US has a margin of error of three percentage points."

And the last poll at 35% could have been 37% too. Bush must be proud.

10. I simply do not believe those numbers.
They had to get the numbers from a random sample in a conservative stronghold.
