Before Congress takes its holiday break they will address HR 4427, the Border Protection, Antiterrorisim and Illegal Immigration Control Act which we should oppose. Read ACLU.org's site for more info.
Also, the Patriot Act will be voted on today or tomorrow in the House and passed on to the Senate where Feingold said he may filibuster the Act. Hopefully, he and other Dems will grow some cojones on this one. An anti-meth bill is wrongly inserted in this one and the ACLU objects to the National Security letters and ability for SS to squash dissent at political or large gatherings like the Olympics.
The military spending bill is being held up by the anti-torture bill that Frist says a deal is being made on, while Lindsey Graham says they aren't close to a deal.
The other spending bill has gone through some modest changes and faces a close vote in both the House and Senate. It's a catch-all bill again (aren't we surprised)
Anything else before these guys slink out of town? This is another week to watch Cspan closely.
