"I am responsible"
So are we suddenly expecting the main stream media to use this as a chance to actually go after Bush? Are you getting enough oxygen???

I see this as being not spun but SHOVED down your throat as

"Truman-esque"

"accountable" "Willing to tell the truth" "bites the bullet"

throw in someone wearing glasses mentioning how W's numbers are "bouncing back" and "on the rise"

I foresee praise worthy of Chalabi's guys (oh and your US Army)pulling down a statue in Baghdad.

8. TWELVE permanent U.S. military bases in Iraq today, we're not leaving.
OIL is too valuable to the U.S. corporate lifestyle, and alternative energy and research costs more and erodes short-term capital gains and corporate profits, to allow abandoning the 1991 plans to occupy IRAQ.

9. What About The GOOD Intellegence He WILLFULLY IGNORED??
What about the "traitors," those of us who pointed out that the "intellegence" and "proof" as presented by the administration was a JOKE! What aboout Germany, France and our other allies who TOLD THEM FROM THE GET GO THE CASE WAS SHAKY! What about the weapons inspectors who WERE CHASED OUT BY US BOMBS! What about getting rid of people who correctly predicted the troop levels and costs necessary -- DOES HE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY OF THAT??

I'm sick of his "I'm a victim of bad intellegence" whine, they KNEW it was bogus, the truth was out there and millions and millions of people marched in protest of him OBVIOUSLY AND WILLFULLY IGNORING THE TRUE AND ACTUAL FACTS LEADING UP TO THIS WAR!

I know.

You know what is odd (not funny) the disconnect. I forgot about how things actually happened especially just before the war. The inspectors couldn't find anything....I repeat (to myself) the inspectors could find anything with unlimited access and finally the list of the magic 100 sites according to the US they couldn't find anything. Amazing how the MSM just washed over that (as per instructions) and as everything was about to happen WE* just completely missed this basic fact.

* by WE I mean the 'Murkan people. We were convinced by halflaughing talkingheads making fun, openly spoofing the inspectors and then cutting to some Bushista screaming about WMD and threat.

Wow amazing.

11. How long after that utterance before he blamed Saddam for the invasion,
yet again?

I'm the pResident, so they make me say stuff like 'I'm responsible', so, ok, ya know... um, I'm responsible. But Saddam made me invade. He wanted to leave Iraq. Couldn't have that. He challenged me to fight it out, just the two of us... HE MADE ME DO IT. Y'all kin see that! Him and those Saddamist-terrists. It's their fault Andy and Karen make me say I'm responsible... pie getting higher... stay the course... 9-11... Saddamist-terrists... 9-11... fight 'em there... 9-11...

13. According to jr, questioning their motives about invading Iraq is
off limits, it "hurts the morale of the troops". Unbelievable bullshit.

14. I agree. Meaningless when uttered with "It was a great decision."
"I am responsible for this great decision I made to invade Iraq, which, even though the only fault here lies with the evil intelligence agencies who screwed me over, was still a great decision. Did I say it was a great decision yet?"

Duh! We know you are "responsible" for Iraq. You invaded! There is no "responsibility" taken here for anything that has ever gone wrong. Rather, it is another excuse to pawn off responsibility on the intelligence. He is at once saying he's "taking responsibility" while laying real responsibility on others.

In an astounding bit of double-talk on top of this, he said "I am responsible for the decision to go into Iraq" and in the same speech said "The United States did not choose war -- the choice was Saddam Hussein's".

He says Saddam refused to "disclose or disarm", so we had to invade.

Bush, you lying SOB: show me one... just ONE single WMD that you have found in Iraq since the war. NO?! That's because he HAD DISARMED YOU DUMB... AIIGHHHH!!!

(sound of me tearing my hair out)

Through U.N. and U.S. action, he WAS disarmed of anything remotely resembling WMDs (or even "WMD-related program activities")!

So he ordered his people to shoot down our planes in the no-fly zone? Yeah? Wouldn't you, if Saddam started flying jets over Crawford? I don't recall the U.N. ever stipulating we could set up "no-fly zones" over Iraq (oh yeah, they didn't).

He also dares to say that Saddam violated the cease-fire of 1991. I got news for ya, bub. Go back and read the U.N. Resolution on the cease-fire. It was for "all parties", including the U.S. Who continued to bomb well past the 1991 cease-fire? And, oh yeah, WHO INVADED?! (with NO resolution authorizing use of force) YOU violated the U.N. cease-fire, you moron.

15. "I screwed up. Now, worship me"
That's it in a nutshell. He expects unvarnished obeisance, the dauphin does, regardless of how royally he screws up.
