New Harris Poll: Sizeable Minority of Americans Still Idiots
Edited on Thu Dec-29-05 02:22 PM by smoogatz
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- More than four years after the
attacks of September 11, 2001, many U.S. adults still believe some of the
justifications for the invasion of Iraq, which have now been discredited,
according to a new Harris Poll. For example:

-- Forty-one percent (41%) of U.S. adults believe that Saddam Hussein had
"strong links to Al Qaeda."
-- Twenty-two percent (22%) of adults believe that Saddam Hussein "helped
plan and support the hijackers who attacked the United States on
September 11."
-- Twenty-six percent (26%) of adults believe that Iraq "had weapons of
mass destruction when the U.S. invaded."
-- Twenty-four percent (24%) of all adults believe that "several of the
hijackers who attacked the United States on September 11 were Iraqis."

3. Who called for the poll?
I bet it was Rove, who is smiling and patting everyone on the back on the success of their disinformation program.

5. I wonder how these Harris results compare to Bush's
approval/disapproval numbers on the Iraq war. The great misinformed must make up a majority of those who support it, no?

4. The Democrats better wake the fuck up NOW
This is the stuff we will be running against in 2006...As far as I am concerned, nothing changed since 2002 and 2004, same old shit, we will see same results!!!

We really need - dare I say it? - A plan....

no denying that those people who believe those things are somewhere between brain dead and slam f...ing nuts, those poll numbers are down considerably from when the same questions were asked in February of 2005. I would be optimistic if I weren't so depressed.

12. I'm sure the new Swiftboaters' ad about WMD's will help clear things up...
Edited on Thu Dec-29-05 09:52 PM by Gloria
FAUX is going to help them, too. Yesterday, on FAUX, they wanted to "review" the Chicago Tribune's article on WMD's, so Clark's interview was all about WMD's with the host wheedling over and over about them and then giving up and trying a new tact, namely, well, wouldn't Saddam been a danger so wasn't it right to go after him?? To which Clark said NO....we could have contained him...and so what if it took a couple of years (as the host wheedled)....look where we've been the last couple of years....and then Clark named the costs in terms of dead Americans, dead Iraqis, etc. etc.

If the Dems were very smart, they would make Clark a prime spokesperson and he would gladly educate the public....but Dems don't want an "outsider" taking the limelight from the Bidens of the world, so the American public will not get the message in a straight, clear manner....
