Bush tells the truth... sort of
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 02:14 PM by toymachines
The question: "Will Social Security be viable when the students today need it?"
Bush: No.

Then he goes onto explain how easy it would be to fix it, if we only let him take care of it. I sure trust him...
oh and then the crowd broke into laughter, a very nervous laughter.

1. Yes it will be
It is a contract which will and must be honored. But that said, people can't depend on social security as their sole income for retirement--those days have been long gone.

4. Sure.....
like I trust a snake.

You know, I can sort of understand if a man is starving and penniless and he steals from someone-but the kind of theives we have now.....their poverty is in morality and in their spirit, I feel.

5. He's a lying fear monger- SS program will be solvent for 75 years
If he and his cohorts don't dismantle it and refuse to honor the trust funds, the program will have a surplus for many decades. Unfortunately though, he has bankrupted the rest of the federal budget beyond repair threatening the future repayment of borrowed trust funds to rightful beneficiaries.
