RNC Promotes a Grand Ole House Party

So, the RNC just sent out an email to individuals in and around Bloomington, Illinois promoting one of their State of the Union House Parties tomorrow night. The "party" features a Jesse Jackson pinata! Apparently this is "A OK" for the Republican National Committee; they sent it out, letterhead and all! Here's the image:

2nd Update: I've been trying to figure this out from every angle, and a possibility came to mind that's worth mentioning, just to be on the safe side. As far as I know this is real. The email definitely came from the RNC, and the invitation had a link to a real GOP page, complete with the full description of the event for giving an RSVP. The one possibility that I can't completely discount is whether someone was playing a prank on the GOP and used their system to create a fake event, which then got sent out automatically to all local people on the mailing list (although I don't know why anyone would do that). Again, I don't have any evidence that this isn't real -- just trying to imagine all possibilities.

3rd Update: the local NPR station just contacted me and they think this may be a hoax, based on the fact that they believe Johnson'll be in Washington DC for the speech. They've put a call into the Representative's office to get more information

4th Update: Still uncertain. This link shows the party, now without the Jesse Jackson reference, at the GOP site.

UPDATE: Just when we thought this party could not possibly be any more awesome, a reader informs us that the only “Bistro” at that address is, in fact, an “alternative night club.” That is, the party is being held at Bloomington’s only gay bar. Words fail us.
