thoughts on Shrub's call for less partisan atmosphere in the SoTU
It certainly was nice to hear a Neocon talk about being more civil and working in a non-partisan manner(in SoTU) - after twenty years of Dems being beaten up and maligned by vicious personal attacks and a general malignant atmosphere fostered by Neocons like Gingrich (called the IRS auditors "thugs") and Delay ("the exterminator", who even threatened to campaign against the son of one of their own if he didn't back the Medicare deconstruction bill and threatened judges in Schiavo case) both of whom approached politics as if it was WAR - and the only rule to that war was "TAKE NO PRISONERS" and after the "K Street Project" it's really nice to here a neo-con talk about the need for more amity Washington. THis means that the Dems recently have started to put up a little bit of a defense against the wanton mugging that's been going on.

I say, great. Dems should fight back all the harder. In a knife fight you don't let up or else you get stabbed. Don't let up Dems - take it up a notch (sp?) and fight harder. And tell Couric (a TAODIE (Sic) SHow fascist cheerleader for Bush, who grills Democrats like she is cross examining a criminal) as soon as the Republicans act like they are ready to stop the war (such as by letting Dems into Conference committee's and haveing some input to legislation) then the Dems will respond accordingly.

1. bush is an asshole. he doesn't mean a damn word he says, except as it
relates to war, war funding, tax cuts for the rich, spying on americans, and dismantling the constitution while pretending that he is the most american, most patriot asshole ever!

2. Republicans love to talk
about the need for less partisanship and a more moderate approach to politics, but only when it comes to Democrats. They say we need to stop treating politics like a battle than tell us "you first."
They'd love nothing more than for Democrats to become an unquestioning moderate party, meanwhile they'll remain a theocratic dictatorship and not have anyone there to stop them.
KEEP FIGHTING!

5. If it's a knife fight, bring a gun.
I say our side should start doing the things the Republicans do. You know: Fund takeovers of media outlets, create bogus think tanks, and purchase the loyalty of reporters. Make up lies about Republicans and force them into the media until people believe them. Blackmail reporters whose closet skeletons we know about.

Hell, our side can start by pushing the goddamned truth into the media. The Republicans are liars and thieves, take kickbacks from lobbyists, and start wars by lying to Congress and the American people.

But whatever we do, we need to START FIGHTING BACK.
