Time for an Extreme Makeover at the White House ?
From C-SPAN topic of the day on this morning's Washington Journal.

The host was reading from a Kristoff article in the NY Times. I am not subscribed so cannot post the link. However, Kristoff suggested that Bush shakeup the Administration by getting rid of Cheney and Rumsfeld. A few Republicans went berserk with the idea of Cheney stepping down. C-SPAn was showing its bias, they said. Cheney is the greatest VP of all time! Such a question!

1. You know, I wonder if the President
actually could fire Cheney. The vice-President is elected same as the President, and does not serve at his pleasure as do the cabinet officers.

2. Mind boggling
Kristof's sub-moronic column will actually lower your IQ if you read it (thank you for putting it off-limits, New York Times!). The very premise is so ludicrous, it practically invites derision: Bush get rid of the bunglers and the incompetents? That would require Bush to look like he's admitting a mistake, something that he is congenitally incapable of doing, and it would strip his entire corrupt administration of all the cover he requires to cover up his own bungling and incompetence.

Kristof, though I have no respect for the little toady whatsoever, has to this point not impressed me as being irretrievably stupid. This column, however, will cause me to re-evaluate that estimation.
