The Congressional records of those already in Congress are pretty clear. However, there are candidates who are not yet on record about the issues. Next month, Texas and Illinois are having their primaries and so these states are a priority. However, they are seeking input on which newcomers candidates for state offices are the most progressive.

For Congressional canididates, the issues the organization wants to know about are:

1) Immediate withdrawal from Iraq


2) Iran and other countries targeted for future wars


3) Lowering the voting age


4) Yucca Mountain


5) The Death Penalty


7) Free trade


8) Universal health care


9) The Department of Peace


The issues asked of candidates for governor include their positions on

1) Cleanup by corporations of their own waste

2) Corporate personhood

3) The environment

4) The Death Penalty

5) Lowering the voting age

1. John Russell candidate in Florida's 5th Congressional District.

1) Is for the immediate withdrawal of our troops in Iraq.

2) Stop trying to provoke Iraq, and other countries in the mid-east. Also Venezuela, and other South American countries.

3) No opinion, haven't studied it.

4) No opinion, but we're strong on the environment, and down here in Florida, protecting the shoreline from drilling and restoring the Everglades are a top priority.

7) Scrap Nafta, Cafta, and the WTO. We support Fair Trade, not bogus Free Trade Agreements suck away American jobs.

8) John is a Nurse Practitioner at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. He also has a Masters Degree in Health Care Systems Management. He understands the problems associated with our fractured health care system, and fully supports a universal, single-payer healthcare plan, such as Conyers bill, H.R.676, and Kennedy's medicare for all. Under these bills, everyone is covered regardless of age, income, or employment status. It would be financed by a 3.5% payroll tax on employers.
