12. I hope to run your ass to the Army recruiting station nearest you
and put your ass on the line in support of the upcoming war against Iran, that Lieberman wants, and the current war in Iraq, that Lieberman still supports.

"Ned Lamont is a family man, community volunteer, and successful businessman running in the Democratic primary for US Senate in Connecticut on August 8th. Ned has been spurred to run by his disappointment at how the Bush administration is undermining our greatest democratic traditions. While much of this frustration is rooted in his opposition to Bush's war in Iraq, Ned understands that the problems with the Bush administration cut across many issues.
Ned is running because he believes that Connecticut deserves a Senator who will stand up to the Bush administration. Ned's willingness to challenge a very well financed eighteen- year incumbent is clear proof that he will fight for what Connecticut's families need.

Ned, and his wife Annie, live in Fairfield County with their three children (Emily, Lindsay, and Teddy). Ned is a graduate of both Harvard and the Yale School of Management. Ned started his career working for a small newspaper in Vermont. He eventually entered the telecommunication business, and, after helping Cablevision start its Fairfield County operations, successfully founded his own company, Lamont Digital Systems, providing advanced telecommunications networks for college campuses with over 150,000 subscribers. The company offers an alternative to cable utilities and allows universities to customize the programming for their own campuses.

In addition to helping to raise his children and running a business, Ned has brought innovation and entrepreneurship to his community activities. He served as Selectman in his heavily Republican hometown of Greenwich and later served on the town finance committee. Ned was appointed as Chairman of the State Investment Advisory Council, which oversees the state pension funds. Ned has been very active in his community on the boards of the Land Trust, YMCA, YPO (Young President's Organization) and the Urban League. Ned serves on the Business Advisory Group at Brookings Institution, a private nonprofit organization devoted to independent research and innovative policy solutions, and was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Citizen's Advisory Committee/telecommunications at the United States Information Agency.

As a parent and businessman, Ned understands the importance of health care and education to our families and our economy. He will fight for universal affordable health care as a basic human right. He understands that the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit was written by lobbyists for HMOs and Drug Companies, and that our seniors deserve a benefit that works for them.

Ned knows how critically important education is to America's competitiveness. Ned co-teaches classes on entrepreneurship at Harding High School in downtown Bridgeport, Connecticut. This experience has helped to shape Ned's passion to guarantee that all of our children are taught in 21st century schools that inspire them to learn.

Ned cares deeply about our civil liberties. He will fight to get the federal government out of our private lives and help put an end to illegal domestic spying.

Ned knows that 'business as usual', and empty promises without financial backing, won't solve our nation's energy problems. He will take on the powerful special interests in Washington to push for energy conservation and alternative fuels development as national priorities, instead of the Bush administration's subsidies for oil companies. He will welcome local participation in the shaping of energy policy. Ned believes that government must respect its citizens and tell them the truth."

6. If you want to waste your money
Then by all means, contribute to Lamont. I am giving $50 bucks to Lieberman, and my sister is giving another $100 to Joe. You have a good time Monday with your pitiful rally for Lamont. By the way, ask him how come he was the best man the Democrats could come up with to challenge Lieberman??!!

7. Why do you love GOP Joe so much? Is it the way he cheerleads the
slaughter of innocent Iraqis? Is it the way he supports President Bush and his planet destroying, democracy trashing policies without hesitation? What grabs you about GOP Joe?

10. What's pitiful is what Joe has become
I used to have some respect for him. He lived only 4 blocks away from me and I used to see him out running in the neighborhood. I thought he was a good guy, even tho he needed lots of nudges on the Clarence Thomas vote.

I am working for NEd Lamont. I wrote him a check last Saturday. I happen to know him through his wife's work with Planned Parenthood of CT. Will he win the primary? Probably not. But I am not going down without a fight. It's politics, buddy. Please try to get over it.

11. Killerbush in on ignore
I tolerated the Lamont bashing but calling the event "pitiful" and degrading us supports is over the top.

Other DUers: Do a search and see what other posts there are. This bashing was from the get-go.

Oh and my uncle donated $300 to Lamont. You're the one who wanted to turn this into a competition.

13. And I see him on another post whining about Kos..
when Kos censored him... I guess he's not wanted there either. I certainly don't want him here. If he's supporting Holy Joe, then he can go find another place to bloviate it.
