Alen said Delay started to answer and then paused and said "We are all sinners"

Allen went on to say that Delay was suprised and very encouraged by the reception he got at the "War on Christianity" conference last week.

BTW- Chris Mathews pretty much said the same thing about Delay--he completely glossed over Delay's past ethics admonishments (2 whole years ago) and downplayed (to my ear) the current corruption and money laundering charges facing him (as pointed out by Katie) saying that this was more about Delay taking one for the team and wanting the Republicans to keep control of the House.
