Katherine Harris: "It smacks of real paranoia," Ex Campaign Manager

Questions Dog Harris Behavior
By WILLIAM MARCH and KEITH EPSTEIN The Tampa Tribune
Published: Apr 4, 2006
http://www.tampatrib.com/MGBEOW9PLLE.html

But in the past 10 days, Harris has:

•Had locks changed and posted a security guard at the door of her campaign headquarters in Tampa and had former staff members escorted in to retrieve their belongings.
•Told a gathering of supporters in Cocoa Beach on Saturday that the Republican Party had "infiltrated" her campaign staff to put "knives in my back."
•Told a reporter that a longtime, trusted political adviser had leaked a story about her staff members quitting, then called back to retract the comments.
•Announced hiring her new staff without identifying them.

<snip>

According to Florida Today, she told a gathering of Republicans, "I didn't know I was going to get the knives in my back from my own party, and I'll be honest, it's infiltrated my campaign staff."

She added, "For too long, we have been undermined by people in our own party and staffers in our own campaign."

The newspaper also quoted Harris as saying, "I was told if I didn't get out of the race, I would have an April surprise," meaning a negative event for her campaign.

23. You know, I hope she actually runs and wins in a landslide...
by using voter fraud that is so extreme, and so obvious, that there is no way she can possibly cover it up.

Maybe that's what the GOP is really afraid of?

That she's going to win 250% of the vote?

That she's going to cheat big, cheat careless, and cheat so obviously that she'll blow everything wide open?

25. But, by herself, I don't think she has the power.
In 2000, she was just a cog in the machine, albeit a critical cog. Now, she's finding out that the party she sold her soul to has decided that she's outlived her usefulness to them. And they're going to "Gore" her. The question is whether she knows where the bodies of 2000 are buried, so to speak. Because, if she does, given her penchant for drama, she's a potential loose cannon and a huge liability to them.

Personally, I don't care what happens to her because she's guilty of treason most foul, in my book. But, if she intends to out the GOP machine, I hope she avoids small airplanes and the like.

The GOP has a solid track record of appointing and annointing the worst scum on earth. Why should Harris be any different?

After all, she did them the ultimate big favor - she delivered Florida with a minimum of political damage.

Where's the love for Harris? Why was she dismissed so summarily? What did she do that was so offensive?

27. That was my thinking
Cruella surely knows what sort of skullduggery the national GOP is capable of, having aided and abetted them in the past. Now that they've turned on her, or she thinks they've turned on her, she's probably right to have some fear of what Jim Baker, Karl Rove and the rest of the bloody brotherhood of the Bush cabal might do.

24. It is eating their own that will undo the GOP, in the end.
They'll do things like this and they'll use their control of voting systems to steal ballots from Republican primary candidates they don't like. Aggrieved GOP candidates will wake up and figure out that it's not good for the Democracy to do this to anyone, no matter the party.

But the Republican inner sanctum won't give up easily, and I have a feeling that they're going to get a lot meaner before it's all over.

John Waters, Shock Film Maker, Seeks Harris for Remake of Camille

Balto, MD. Avant garde film maker John Waters is seeking Katherine Harris to play the lead in his remake of Camille, the classic story and novel by Dumas. He said, "Katherine is perfect for the lead, courtesan Marguerite Gautier. I'm holding of production until she's available." The role was originally played by Greta Garbo with her lover, Armand, played by Robert Taylor. Waters hasn't settled on the Armand character but is rumored to be in talks with Alec Baldwin and Ice T. ###

50. Yes, I feel her pain...
She's poured her heart out on Hannity, no less, and defied the Rove machine who clearly didn't want her to run.

Now, she peddles her wares (and cleavage) every chance she gets.

There's a certain desperation to it that's pathetic and heroic at the same time.

Never has there been a GOP woman so desperate since Tammy Faye (and a similar makeup shipping weight).

It's great entertainment and I'll miss it when it's gone.

Petite, feisty, sexual, utterly full of herself, so willing to be so evil and revel in it- but at the same time wanting so very very badly to be loved and admired.... I've always found Bad Girls like that very cute. They in turn fervently love/hate anyone who empathizes with them, ime :-)

The GOP is run by The Money for The Money. KH is running a campaign that is by KH about KH and for KH alone. This entaileth Heresy on her part to the One True God, whose Holy Writ is green pieces of paper.

65. There may be more to the "April surprise"
At this point, K. Harris is talking to the media. She's already acknowledged that it's her own party that's stabbing her in the back. They want her out, there's no question about it.

The reason? She's incompetent. She's corrupt, but she missed several deadlines for filing certain corrupt things, so they've decided to toss her overboard.

Just as I predicted, she's talking. Believe me, she's not done talking. This whole situation is deteriorating into a mess. A woman with her big ego and neediness is not going to go away quietly. They are probably watching her in Washington right now, trying to decide what to do.

The BIG confession may be just days away. They're going to do something, mark my words.
