Try our new "I Can't Believe It's Not Democracy!"
All the corruption, none of the populism! Try our new election-free democracy substitute "I-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Democracy!" Now in Ohio and Florida flavors.

The news in less ridiculous format: Republican Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell of Ohio was caught holding stock in Diebold. Forbes has details (http://www.forbes.com/business/businesstech/feeds/ap/2006/04/04/ap2644251.html), as do other posts on DU.

1. Blackwell owned Diebold stock.
(I think that should be clear in the subject line.)

He said it was an accident. As the article says, if he can't handle his own checkbook, why should he be trusted to handle the state's checkbook?

An accident.

6. Almost like admitting he's not potty trained.
Did Kenny make poo-poo in his underwear? :eyes:

5. OMG!!!!! Did Blackwell finally fumble? Was he set up by Bush Co.?
Edited on Tue Apr-04-06 06:16 PM by McCamy Taylor
This is big time. If I read this right he bought stock and THEN Ohio bought their machines. We really should consider sending some emails of outrage to the usual Congress people who will give a damn and see if they bite. I know what my next Grand Theft Election Ohio topic is going to be now.

Title is catcy but a better title would be "Blackwell in Stock Scandal: Owns Diebold"
