Colorado Congressman Bob Beauprez Goes Both Ways With Tom DeLay
Edited on Tue Apr-04-06 03:51 PM by IanDB1
DeLay to resign; call on Beauprez to return money

Indicted Congressman Tom DeLay, the right-wing leader in the House of Representatives, just announced that he'll resign his seat in Congress amid the ongoing criminal investigation into his money-for-influence machine.

As reported first in the National Journal, no one in Congress has had closer ties to DeLay than Colorado Congressman Bob Beauprez. Beauprez took $29,901 in campaign contributions from DeLay's PAC. He voted multiple times to weaken the House ethics rules to protect DeLay. Beauprez even gave DeLay money to pay for his lawyers.
In October we called on Beauprez to return DeLay's money. So far, he's refused. But Beauprez can't have it both ways - he must either return DeLay's money or keep it and tie himself to DeLay's ethics scandal. Join in demanding that "Both-Ways Bob" return DeLay's dirty money now:

The culture of corruption that DeLay helped create touches everyone who took his dirty money, voted for his corrupt leadership, or helped him sell our government to the highest bidder. Help us continue the fight for ethical government - donate now at:

Thank you for speaking out and for your support!

1. I wonder if this is the best strategy
it might be better to attack Beauprez with this after he wins the nomination to run for Governor. Right now this would seem to benefit his Republican opponent, who is an even bigger whackjob than Beauprez is.

2. It would be just terrific if a strong blue wave would sweep over Colorado
in November.

And if it could just be big and strong enough to drown James Dobson...
