Republicans hate government - that's why they shouldn't govern.

I heard part of a great discussion yesterday on NPR (sorry I can't credit the show or the participants) but a very eloquent guy was saying that the biggest lie that people have bought from the Republican spinmeisters is the concept that government is bad. He said government is the ONLY thing that stands between the people and an exploitive corporatacracy.

Privatization is an abomination - redistributing our common wealth and resources to the connected. Enron gaming the electric grid PROVES the need for government oversight and regulation. We cannot rely on private entities doing the right thing - THEY WON'T.

2. That sounds like a great
discussion and I will use this analogy.

The answer to your original question? NO! I am glad I don't have to play in that orchestra (not speaking of the government). Thankfully my conductor is a big liberal who helps to keep our organization where it ought to be, by and for the members and our audience. If our government worked half as well we would all be better off. I can't imagine what it would be like if we had to do only the things our corporate sponsors wanted.

3. Republicans hate everyone who isn't white, doesn't "act" white, and
doesn't have money.

Poor white--forget it.

Any other racial group--forget it.

Women--forget it unless they know their place which is barefoot and pregnant.

Middle class--forget it.

Fetus? They love you until you're born then unless you have blue blood-they hate you, too.
