I've decided I'm for Gore
Al is getting some amazing press. Not only Arianna ("the new Al Gore,") and NY magazine ("The Comeback Kid"), but a segment on "Good Morning, America" this morning. Who would have thought that he would be seen as a breath of fresh air, pun intended? He won the Presidency, and its theft from him, an ugly stain on our history, started the worst of our troubles. He has an issue that's more important than any issue out there, and he's running with it this time. I'm supporting him. Its justice.

NY Mag:

"Does he, like many Democrats, think the election was stolen?

Gore pauses a long time and stares into the middle distance. 'There may come a time when I speak on that,' Gore says, 'but it’s not now; I need more time to frame it carefully if I do.' Gore sighs. 'In our system, there’s no intermediate step between a definitive Supreme Court decision and violent revolution.'

Later, I put the question of Gore’s views on the matter to David Boies, his lawyer in the Florida-recount battle. 'He thought the court’s ruling was wrong and obviously political,' Boies says. So he considers the election stolen? 'I think he does—and he’s right.'

2.  Me too!
He may have to run as an independent if the party brass supports HC or another. No problem -- just run, Al!

3. I think a Gore/Clark ticket in '08
would be a force to be reckoned with. Clark would trump any military card that McCain would be able to play, and Gore's newfound fame after all these hellish years under Bush would be just the breath of fresh air people are looking for.

7. That's the one. Immense qualifications and stature,
with a military kick.

That ticket will win.

9. Gore/Clark in 2008! sounds great to me!
Lieberman was a drag and a very bad choice for so many reasons. With a different VP, Gore might have had 60% of the vote and Katherine Harris would be extinct.

AL GORE: A BREATH OF FRESH AIR

I'm riding on the Feingold 2008 wagon for as far as it goes, but will be happy to finish the ride with Al if/when the Russmobile leaves the race.

5. Kerry/Gore would have MY vote. We DO need Gore's energy & insight
and passion for People and World issues. Kerry would balance him out, I do believe.

6. He is just amazing. He put why he stopped beautifully.
And that he was even THINKING about it....

"In our system, there's no intermediate step between a definitive Supreme Court decision and violent revolution."

Damn. Put this man in the Oval Office.

11. ROFL! Man, this is such a great article. I LOLed at this part:
"Eleven years ago, I wrote a story about Gore in which I remarked that 'what any sensible person does in anticipation of a sustained piece of oratory by Al Gore' is 'order another cup of coffee—black.' So I can’t help but laugh when Gore arrives for the first of our conversations carrying a dainty white cup, walks silently over, waiterlike, and intones, 'I understand, sir, you take it black.'"

18. It's funny how when something is really "right" you know it.
The quagmire of corrupt politics has elevated Mr. Gore as the best candidate.

20. I am participating in a filmmakers symposium with Gore on June 15.
I plan on using that opportunitty to press him hard to run again, as I am sure many people are already doing. Any suggestions on what to say to him?

21. Tell him run, but "don't run."
To be sincere, and successful, he needs to tap into his anger about what has happened. Let loose with it.

22. Say he owes it to the country. We elected him once. We need him now.
And his election again, and taking office, would bring not only justice, but, to use an overused word, "closure."
