Just Voted in Alabama Primary
Truth is, I didn't do a very good job of researching things. But I voted anyway, if for no other reason than to vote against that stupid gay-hate measure. Being it is Alabama, I'm sure it'll pass anyway.

The truth is in every commercial I saw it was like a conservative pissing contest, where all the candidates were trying to out conserve one-another. One commercial even called George Wallace Jr. a liberal, what a hoot that was. I guess people here will believe almost anything.

Anyone else from Alabama, the turnout is low, so your vote will count for more. Get out there and do it, even if it is hot, and bothersome.

2. I like Howard Zinn
Read his book, A People's History of the United States.

Funny how much more interesting history is if they actually tell the truth, from both sides of the aisle.

3. Also Voices of a People's History
I have that; I had People's History but gave it to a friend who's going to Princeton next year (brilliant guy who hadn't read any Zinn).

4. My brother is moving from a tiny town in Alabama to San Jose, CA today..
Hopefully he voted on his way out!

His wife & babies are already on the Left Coast.. but he's driving out tonight. I think I'll call him and remind him to vote on the way out!
