9. I copied from other site.SEE LINK! I do like Feingold.
not sure who my real fav (who wants to run) will be.
Hillary was winning on the other site- kid of why I wanted ya'll to see it. Wasn't sure if it was important enouigh to say DU this poll. BUT DU iot if you want for SURE!

What I really want is the truth to come out about so many things; Verified Voting/election Fraud etc.
I want a candidate that will be brave enough and honest enough to tell the truth.

What about FeinYoungCannibals, or Feingolddiggers, or Cheeseheads (or am I getting Minnesota and Wisconsin confused again?), or FeinassedAmericans? Oh, I got one!! Feinalists!! if he ends up as a Veep nominee we can change it to Semi-Feinalists.

I'm not a huge fan of Mark Warner -- too DLC for me -- but I thought that was a bit much even for a DLCer. I'm relieved to know it was John Warner, who is consistently a douchebag.

In a half hour long debate with Kerry over his amendment. I absolutely disagree with his positions, but this was a very civil good discussion. The respect and friendsip of the two was obvious.

4. I'm a rebel here, I know, but I think we should push for Schweitzer!
Every time I hear him interviewed, I am more convinced he would be the best choice for all of us! I realize when he's asked about runing in 08 he continues to say "Why would I want to leave Montana, it's the best job in the world." But I think we've still got time to convince him we need him!

Brian Schweitzer, Gov. Montana

5. Interesting. The leader in that poll is Other at 32%
Clinton has 28%.

I usually suspect polls like that are name recognition contest, but Other leading would disprove that. Since Roadrunner is in VA, maybe Warner is in the lead?

I attended the town hall in NYC awhile back and I think he was sincere when he said he would not run. I wish he had been pres. these last 5 years, but I think he is doing better for us with his present agenda. Anyway it's too early to be debating this even though it is fun.

11. Hillary still more than 2x ahead of the others
so different than here at the DU, although Edwards and Al Gore have split much of the vote. I do think this poll just like an election with more than 2 candidates, demonstrates how you can not have a fair election with multiple choices. A less popular nominee (even the least favored) could win.

36. Gore is almost certainly running. He's just not doing it traditionally
The movie (which is great) is essentially a Gore campaign commercial. He comes off being very presidential, almost Lincolnesque. That's not unintended.

"I can't support candidate X because (s)he's basically a Republican" is not an argument. It's an insult to the candidate and to every one of your teachers who ever tried to teach you to think critically.

45. Technically, he's a Democrat.
Just like Jeffords was a Republican. Or Ron Paul.

I don't fall for the label thing. I fall for the action thing. In my mind Bernie Sanders is a Dem.

Bayh, Landrieu, Warner, Richardson etc. are just warmed over Republicans. Take it as you will.

How many of the candidates are DLCers?

I will abstain rather than vote DLC. Hell, I'm probably the most "progressive" man on DU - and I'd rather vote McCain than a DLCer.

Gimme Fiengold. Gimme a progressive candidate, not a GOPer-lite.

30. Just an observation
22,500 votes and Hillary still leads (well, she leads among the candidates named.)

Now, Hillary is not my first choice (maybe my 3rd or 4th) but this does make me think of all the statements on DU of late ("nobody I know likes Hillary... blah blah") and the brouhaha over at Bartcop in which he calls out KOS and his readers for believing the online KOS poll is indicative of anything.

For whatever reason, whether it's name recognition (Gore, Kerry, and Edwards have a fair share of that themselves), or a genuine appreciation for her, Clinton IS the frontrunner at this very early point.

The national polls show it. A fact is a fact. I would rather see Clark or Warner or Bayh or even Biden, but I can admit my horse isn't in the lead at the moment.

31. It's name recognition, IMO
Virtually all of my friends and coworkers who are Dems or who care about politics are united in NOT wanting Clinton.

This poll is seriously lacking, IMO.

Of course, there's the point that it's too far out, and that Biden is the only declared candidate so far, but there are a number of good possibilities not even mentioned. I know that Feingold is a DU favorite, but Schweitzer is another one that has been generating some interest but isn't included.

The fact is, it's really too early to even know who's going to run.

43. Well Polls always are wrong when your candidate is not in the lead...
At least here. Hillary is my first choice, followed probably by Gore, Warner, Clark, and Bayh. Though in reality I would happily vote for any of those mentioned.

I do find it hard to believe this is simply name recognition. As you point out this assumes Democratic voters are too stupid to remember the last two Democratic nominees, the last Vice Presidential nominee, and the last legitimate Vice-President.

Hillary is more popular than many of those in the DU bubble want to admit. Unable to come to grips with that fact they make up reasons why poll after poll showing her in the lead are invalid.

41. Mark Warner: one thumb up
As a Virginia resident, there were very few times when I realized we had a Governor. Big plus in my book, with all the press-seekers and overly-ambitious Executive-branch types around the country, Warner stuck to the job at hand: Enforcing the laws, overseeing the efforts of the Legislative branch, and generally allowing the People to live their lives as best they can.

You know, the really important things to look for when choosing a Presidential candidate.
