Obama and Dean are on the same page...
Cede nothing to the Republicans...

Many evangelicals have been spoonfed the ravings of Falwell, Robertson, Kennedy et al without any rebuttal from Democrats...

If the 50-state strategy is going to work we are going to have to work on increasing our percentages among evangelical voters...

Explain how we can grow the party in places such as Mississippi, Alabama, George, Kansas or Nebraska without doing so?

1. I do think
that if we are going to use that strategy that we should be emphasizing the New Testament version instead of the Old Testament version. But what do I know.....I an agnostic ;-)

2. I find it especially interesting that evangelical Christians
are concerned that no emphesis is placed on the millions of children that die everyday.. they want to protect the womb, but not the environment that the child will be placed in. Wish I had the money to be an Angelina Jolie... Wish there was an easier and less expensive way to adopt children that need adopting from around the world.. but with all the additional expenses its too expensive for regular people to do this.

3. Southern, rural, lower-middle-class, female, socially conservative --
-- not big fans of tax cuts, but huge fans of government programs.

I assume these are the kinda evangelicals Obama and Dean are going after?

Wal-Mart voters are simply not a viable, reliable conservative constituency. When Pew looked at the opinions of those pro-government conservatives in a 2005 study, it found that 94 percent favor a higher minimum wage, 63 percent favor the government guaranteeing health care to all citizens, and fewer than half favor drilling in ANWR. What's worst: more than half of pro-government conservatives held positive views of both Bill and Hillary Clinton.

This is clearly not a voting bloc that Republicans can count on in 2006 or 2008.

5. Many of these people vote for the pukes only because of social issues.
That's the GOP strategy, use social issues to get people to vote against their economic interest. Many of these evangelicals used to be Dems untill social issues became imporant.
