Will the Israeli conflict affect our November elections?
Do most voters want the US to fully support Israel? Condemn Israel? Negotiate a cease-fire? Or let them duke it out?

From what I've seen so far, the repugs/conservatives seem to be in total support of Israel and progressives want either a cease fire or condemnation of Israel.

1. I don't think the average voter
knows enough to have an opinion or even care. If it does not show up on the cover of People magazine next to a picture of Paris Hilton, they don't know it is even an issue!

and it will split the Democrats--that is to say it is a perfect wedge issue: solidifying one party, causing division in another.

4. It is taking so long
to start evacuations, I wonder if the govt is counting on this! They can then charge in, guns blazing and look like John Wayne.

11. Then you might be staying home on election day. Usually Presidential
candidates bend over backwards to express support for Israel.

12. yes, it will have a huge effect
the republicans were going down in November because Iraq is a total failure ... they needed to roll the dice and change the script ...

what going on now does just that ... there's no guarantee it will work but it does give the neocons a second chance ...
