1. Santorum is worse.
But only in the way that vomit mixed with feces is worse than just plain feces.

That's one difficult choice. I can't think of two more repulsive senators.

4. Can someone please explain this "man on dog" thing regarding
Santorum? I see it all the time but not explained. Hopefully, it's nothing obscene. Thanks in advance.

5. I believe it refers to an interview that he once did
Edited on Mon Sep-25-06 09:23 PM by Crunchy Frog
in which he began drivelling on about "man on dog" sex, in the context of discussing homosexuality. I wouldn't know where to find it but I do remember it.

Edit: found a link to the interview. http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2003-04-23-santorum-excerpt_x.htm

6. Was it "man on dog" or "man on box turtles"?
Jon Stewart did the latter as a skit, but I can't remember which politician.

"It does not affect your daily life very much if your neighbor marries a box turtle. But that does not mean it is right. Now you must raise your children up in a world where that union of man and box turtle is on the same legal footing as man and wife."

19. Oh, F! And he is my (gag) senstor, and I forgot that?
Sometimes I need to see him on tv to be reminded what an asshole he is, and a cruel one at that. He is really "pro-torture".

12. Excerpt from the interview:
Edited on Mon Sep-25-06 09:30 PM by Crunchy Frog
SANTORUM: We have laws in states, like the one at the Supreme Court right now, that has sodomy laws and they were there for a purpose. Because, again, I would argue, they undermine the basic tenets of our society and the family. And if the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything. Does that undermine the fabric of our society? I would argue yes, it does. It all comes from, I would argue, this right to privacy that doesn't exist in my opinion in the United States Constitution, this right that was created, it was created in Griswold — Griswold was the contraceptive case — and abortion. And now we're just extending it out. And the further you extend it out, the more you — this freedom actually intervenes and affects the family. You say, well, it's my individual freedom. Yes, but it destroys the basic unit of our society because it condones behavior that's antithetical to strong healthy families. Whether it's polygamy, whether it's adultery, where it's sodomy, all of those things, are antithetical to a healthy, stable, traditional family.

Every society in the history of man has upheld the institution of marriage as a bond between a man and a woman. Why? Because society is based on one thing: that society is based on the future of the society. And that's what? Children. Monogamous relationships. In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That's not to pick on homosexuality. It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing. And when you destroy that you have a dramatic impact on the quality —

AP: I'm sorry, I didn't think I was going to talk about "man on dog" with a United States senator, it's sort of freaking me out. http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2003-04-23-santorum-excerpt_x.htm

13. Thanks for the explanation. It's what I thought it would be. He's
probably talking from personal experience because who in the world would ever think of such a thing to say in an interview with the AP. You can tell that reporter was stunned. What a creep!

10. I voted "for" Ricky, but I was imagining it was Rick Perry, gov of TX.
I wish Ann Richards had lived long enough to see him defeated by Chris Bell in Nov, and maybe even prosecuted. A guest on NPR's All Things Considered this evening said he must have taken payola to fast-track those 16 coal-powered plants when so many mayors and others were against it.

Yeah, I will see your Santorum steaming pile of dogshit and raise you one pile of hot greasy cow pie.
