4. Last night, someone suggested this scenario...

Joe wins Senate seat >>> gets offered, and accepts, Sec'y of Defense to replace Rummy >>> Connecticut Gov(R) fills his vacated Senate seat with a Rethug.

Is that how that could work?

10. I don't know but my eyes are bleeding
now - can't stomach the thought. But, if that's the case, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing. Think of it, Joe taking over a totally mismanaged position and it would be his job to clean it up which he would fail miserably at for he is nothing but a tool and a yes man. No, it wouldn't be good any way around. Forget I said that. Let's just hope Joe loses.

3. I think so.
If I remember correctly a Repuke Senator changed to independent early on in *'s term. I'm not sure of the exact procedure or details.

6. I believe he can.........
Look at the gentleman whose name escapes me who became an Independent after having been a republican.......

Several years ago.........I'm sure someone here will recall who he is, and which state he's from.......

Maine, perhaps? Or Vermont?

Anyway, I know he is still in the Congress.

I do believe Lieberman can do it as well.

13. not only votes with Dems
he caucuses with Dems. He always mainly voted with Dems. He co-sponsored Clinton's health care bill when he was still a Republican.

12. Yes, Jim Jeffords (VT) changed from Repub. to Indep. giving control
of Congress to the Dems. However Jeffords is retiring this year and Bernie Sanders is running for his seat as an Independent...& he'll win!

Let's hear it for Bernie! :woohoo: :bounce:
