These things are usually telegraphed, leaked whatever. But who knows?

13. Not necessarily.
They're often abrupt. Look at Foley. Plus, there've been reports of Hastert cancelling all sorts of meetings.

Not that I think this is his resignation. That's probably still a week or two away.

9. I was betting on resignation because it would be the best damage-control
move. I suspect we're actually better off politically if he goes kicking & screaming. More public attention, a better show. With a resignation they could get some possible benefit from claiming that the Dems (i.e. Pelosi) hounded him from office even though he was innersint.
