The "List" covered at davidcorn.com
Edited on Sat Oct-07-06 01:18 PM by No DUplicitous DUpe
Copies of The List (see below) have been sent by gay politicos to a variety of social conservative groups that look to the Republican Party to make their religious right dreams come true. The recipients include the Christian Coalition, Focus on the Family, the Family Research Council, the Alliance for Marriage, Concerned Women of America, the Eagle Forum, and the Southern Baptist Convention. Officials at most of these groups have had something to say about homosexuality and gay rights in the wake of the Mark Foley scandal.

"I've got a little list"

And the self-righteous jurists, who free the high and mightier,
Overbearing, moralistic judges—I've got them on the list!
All afternoon talk show hosts—nah, not Oprah —but especially Jerry Springer;
They'd none of 'em be missed—they'd none of 'em be missed.
And the slick politician who about corporate influences never lies,
"What, never?" Well, hardly ever when even their socks Enron buys
But it really doesn't matter whom you put upon the list,
For they'd none of 'em be missed--they'd none of 'em be missed!

CHORUS. You may put 'em on the list--you may put 'em on the list;
And they'll none of 'em be missed--they'll none of 'em be missed!

1. Even if this list is small, it is huge news!
Republicans ONLY care about getting elected, and legislating policies that benefit society's priveledged.

Nothing else matters to them really. I broad brush this, because it is appropriate in this new era of every single one of them saying exactly the same talking points at all times.

One Republican represents them all.

2. You have to wonder about why everyone is screaming at Hastert to leave
...and why Hastert, instead of IMMEDIATELY taking responsibility, got into seriously stupid, Soros-blaming, Democrats-ate-my-homework DEFENSIVE mode (which was STUPID...you admit, you say you were busy and overwhelmed with legislative work, you apologize profusely, you take the heat, you move on--he made a one day story about him into a continuing saga about him at the top of a COVER UP).

I think that list has Denny's live-in Chief of Staff on it. Which begs the question--Denny, is that YOU hiding behind the winter coats back there???
