Mason-Dixon VA-Sen Poll -- Allen 47, Webb 43
U.S. Sen. George Allen has ended a two-month freefall in voter support and regained a narrow lead in his re-election bid against Democrat Jim Webb, according to a new poll.

Allen drew 47 percent support and Webb received 43 percent of the vote in a survey of 625 registered voters conducted last Tuesday through Thursday. The sampling was conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. of Washington.

2. Well, hell. Let's step up the intensity. Maybe donate to Webb's
campaign, maybe volunteer to help stuff some envelopes or make a few calls if you're anywhere near Virginia.

Allen is a cynical blowhard and should never have been let anywhere near a Senate seat.

This is still mighty close.

Let's elect the Democrat.

4. Get tired of some of the replies here - Allen is over on the national stage
He has been outed as a lying racist sack of shit.

Allen was going to cruise on this re-election. He was going to run for the Presidency of the United States of America.

Now against a guy no one gave a chance he has closed the gap and has started seriously increasing the money to campaign videos.

Sorry folks everyone knows Allen he has been in for a long while. But he won't last another election cycle even if he squeeks by this time.

And there is a good chance with the new media blitz that Webb might just pull this out.

5. Right
But Webb is going to have to go on the offensive and win it. He can't wait for Allen to have another Gaffe. It's not going to happen. Webb has to go and grab the brass ring.

6. He is trying with a lot more ads but....
Until the gaffe not a lot of big money was coming into his campaign.

So?

Well everyone knows the name "George Allen" but not a lot of folks even know who the hell Webb is.

Why?

He did not get the money early on so toward the end of his campaign he has to spend attack money to introduce himself or just keep attacking and hope that people will just vote against Allen.

Right now he is just attacking.
