What if B*sh says things are moving ahead in Iraq?
He can keep repeating that and then make a subtle shift and say that things are "proceeding" in Iraq. Finally, all he has to do is say that he has decided to "stay" the proceedings. Then he can say that people must have misunderstood if they didn't recognize that "stay the course" is almost exactly the same as "stay the proceedings."

1. Who can deny that the war in Iraq has been a trial for America?
Now B*sh can say that it is time to stay the trial proceedings and that this has always been his plan.
