REPORT VOTER FRAUD/IRREGULARITIES BY CALLING - 1-866-OUR-VOTE / 1-866-MYVOTE1
Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 02:37 PM by gully
And 1-888-DEM-VOTE - per the post below.

TAKE all NUMBERS TO THE POLLS TOMORROW.

Constructive suggestions to voter issues below:

http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=74932

EP's database, the Election Incident Reporting System, records such problems, allowing the lawyers to track them in real time and take appropriate action. The database has been used to support the coalition's efforts in lawsuits across the country to advocate for voter rights. The information also supports advocacy organizations working to improve voting laws at the local, state and national level, and provided information for a report on disenfranchisement in the 2004 elections called "Shattering the Myth," available at http://www.pfaw.org/pfaw/dfiles/file_477.pdf

"The November election may well be a crucial turning point for the nation. It's imperative that voters have faith in our electoral system, that they go to the polls in great numbers, and that their votes will be counted. That's the Election Protection goal: helping every voter cast a vote that will count," said Ralph G. Neas, president of People for the American Way Foundation.

-

"NAACP units across the nation will be strategically positioned on Election Day to ensure that every registered voter has an opportunity to exercise their right to vote and that their vote is counted.

More on MYVOTE1

You know that participation is vital to the success of our democracy. You know you need to raise your voice, declare yourself, rock the vote and all that, but in the weeks leading up to the election, problems can arise. Who do you call when your registration card or absentee ballot goes missing? Who do you call when lines at the polls stretch for hours and your poll location is hard to find? Who do you call when your local board of elections doesn't answer?

1-866-MyVote1

The 2006 MyVote1 Election Hotline is up and running! The English and Spanish, automated hotline will help registered voters in three ways in the weeks leading up to, and on Election Day 2006:

Where to Vote: Callers will first have the option of entering their zip code and home telephone number to have their poll location read to them.

Report a Problem: Hotline callers can then leave a voice message describing their complaint. Consortium members will have access the recordings as they come in during the election-cycle so they can respond in real-time to developing problems.

Get Help: Finally, the hotline will ask callers if they want to be transferred to their local election board help line and will track whether their call was answered.

Also, contact your LOCAL media in light of any problems and encourage them to bring a camera crew!

VOTE!

Please kick, recommend and spread the word - so that everyone can take note.

Thanks.

5. K&R...This should be pinned to the top through tomorrow!
Everyone should be taking these numbers with them. Not only in case you see something wrong, but if you overhear someone else at the polling station having troubles, you can provide the number to them.

12. The OP doesn't have the number for Election Protection -866-OUR-VOTE
This is THE key reporting system because there are 11 call centers, each staffed with live operators taking the calls and entering the info into databases. Legal teams are on site and ready to go at all the call centers and locally in key counties across the country and tech experts are there as well for electronic voting issues. The DEM VOTE info will never be made public. The MYVOTE1 number just records messages and can't act on them, plus there will be only limited public availability of the data that's reported. Please use 866-OUR-VOTE whenever possible to get both rapid legal/technical response and public availability of the data.

11. More and a webform if you decide to wait till you get home...
...though there's a lot to be said for calling it in there on the spot with your cell in front of the pollworkers, if you prefer to fill out an online form instead, the link is in the following diary as well as a couple local numbers for specific states:

15. Advice
I just want to recommend that all of you who are going to be voting on a voting-machine tomorrow, please bring your video-cell phones with you to record any possible irregularities that might occur.
If your vote switches in front of you on the screen, you’ll be able to prove it.
Since this is my first post on DU, I suggest someone make a thread on this so more people get the word.
Thanks
