Pink bridge vandalized

By Bryan Chambers
The Herald-Dispatch

November 10, 2006

HUNTINGTON — Vandals have added yet more color to the controversial pink bridge on 8th Street near Ritter Park.

Sometime Thursday night or early Friday morning, someone threw a bucket of white paint and some blue paint on the span. Gold paint had been sprayed in several places, too.

..cut..
"I know no one is opposed to this because it's promoting breast cancer awareness," he said. "The bottom line is people have a problem with this bridge being painted pink."

3. Federal funding for getting rid of Homosexuality in Republicans.
At this juncture between the GOP "lame duck" Congress and the New Democratic majority I feel that it is crucial the U.S. legislature work to get Federal funding for getting rid of Homosexuality in Republicans. Time for an effective treatment for this serious illness.

See Sherman bark: http://www.citizenlink.org/sherman/

Remember: Sherman is a dog so he barks. He doesn't moo.

Is it wrong to use taxpayer dollars to finance an investment in Republican fidelity and opposite sex marriage? Definately not. We simply can not risk our Congressional Pages and other GOP party representatives to get the message that "Being Gay is OK".

Bashing Gays is only effective if the GOP remains heterosexual. Whenever one of them is "outed" for being Gay this hurts the GOP campaign.

So while yer boys is still in charge i say we push the legislation through.

And yes I'm being completely serious here.

Well almost...

4. What's next, ripping the pink booties off little babies?
This is discusting.

As a color, pink never struck my fancy and, if this is a girl in my belly, then I'm painting her room a pale peach, but to equate pink with homosexuality is just STUPID.

You're right, poster above: words fail me.

10. I agree, equating pink with homosexuality is just STUPID, why are you doing it?
Nowhere in the article does anyone make this connection. None of the complaints even came close to taking it in that direction.
