is Chairman on Environment and Public Works (and Christian Reconstructionist) James Inhofe vacating his position to Barbara Boxer. The air just took a big sigh of relief.

Yes the environment is VERY important. All of us are taking such a fresh air of breath. Congratulations to Barbara for her many years of good work! And may she continue for many years to come.

James Conaughton is Bush's environmental advisor, the Karl Rove of environmental policy.

Until Conaughton is gone, not one thing happens. Maybe, just maybe, environmental research funding can be restored by stapling onto bigger bills that Bush won't veto.

We will see.
