7. When he ran for Senate as an Independant
He ran on the Connecticut for Lieberman ticket. I think that was the name of the party he started, if I remember correctly. He's been wrong about this war from the beginning and he continues to be wrong.

6. I keep flip-flopping on Lieberman.
Sometimes I want to take it easy on him because he's a critical vote in the Senate. Sometimes I want him pilloried for his ridiculous stands.

Today, it is clear he's Bush's toadie. We'd have been better off if he would have declared himself a Republican and lost in 2006. Now, he's being courted by both sides and is a media darling.

She-it.

8. We need to win a few more Senate seats in '08
so we don't have to put up with his idiocy anymore.

10. At least he's known for being run out of the Democratic Party.
That was a talking point of the GOP during the mid-term election campaigning.

We didn't want him.

9. he was spewing the same right wing talking points:
Must unit with the president
those who disagree with him are advocating failure
the terrorists are the cause of the Iraq mess
Iraq = 9/11

Really, didn't he get the updated misinformation-sheet? Hagel did a great job of putting him in his place. Dodd was not given the opportunity. Tim kept asking Hagel to respond rather than Dodd. I think he purposefully wanted a republican to respond to Lieberman.

12. Lieberman is a Republican mole. He always has been.
We know it. The Democrats know it. After the election, Lieberman felt no particular reason to hide it anymore.

Dem aides upset Lieberman hired former GOP spokesman

Democratic aides are upset that Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman, who won reelection as an independent, has hired a former GOP spokesman who has also worked for the Christian Coalition and other conservative organizations, according to a Capitol Hill newspaper.

"Several Senate Democratic aides say they’re uneasy about the notion of Lieberman’s new communications director, Marshall Wittmann, sitting in on their weekly press secretary meetings," Akers reports for Roll Call.

Right now it's a marriage of convenience for all concerned. Hopefully in 2008 that will all change.

14. It is a serious situation with Lieberman...major Dems supported him
against Lamont. They did it overtly, they did it without caring what the grassroots thought. Some who had agreed to campaign with Lamont were forced to not be obvious about it.

Power Dems supported Joe against the winner of the Democratic primary. It was a serious thing they did.
