Good blog. What do you think? I think Fitzgerald will put a nail in Cheney's coffin.

Cheney Will Face Cross-Examination in Valerie Plame, Joseph Wilson Case

Submitted by BigBadJohnny on Tue, 2007-01-16 20:44.

Jury selection begins today, Tuesday, january 16, 2007, in the trial of Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libby, who is charged with repeatedly lying under oath about his role in talking to reporters about Plame and her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson.
The trial is expected to last some six weeks. Vice President Cheney is among those expected to testify.

Bush suggested that Africa was selling Uranium to Iraq. Joseph Wilson, working with the CIA, went to Africa, to investigate that possibility. He worked hard, and found that there was no truth to those claims. He told the administration of his findings, then thought his job was complete. When the administration continued to lie to the American people, claiming that Iraq was trying to purchase Uranium from Africa, thus continuing the momentum for war with Iraq, Wilson went directly to the people, through the New York Times, and negated the lies. The Bush administration attempted to punish Wilson, by revealing that Wilson's wife, the dynamic, and beautiful Valerie Plame, was in fact a high ranking CIA Operative. This placed her life in jeopardy, and destroyed her ability to function as an operative.

He then goes on to give Joseph Wilson's FULL statememt that was published in the Published on Sunday, July 6, 2003 by the New York Times

2. Cheney is the most powerful . . .
. . . and evil man in the world. He has every intention of getting away with this, like all the other outrageous abuses of justice he's committed. He's got his hand on every string that can be pulled.

Prosecution is up against it with this guy.

5. I hope someone asks Cheney
how he felt about Wilson when he got Saddam to let the hostages go?

The Niger mission wasn't the first time Wilson got in BushCo's way.

6. I'm sure Cheney's defense team is
running him through mock trials over and over again to make sure he doesn't
stumble and fall into a steamy vat of perjuric doo-doo, during cross-examination.

10. Oh, Cheney doesn't need all that!
Have you forgotten that Cheney can assume any shape he wants?

"The Devil hath power to assume a pleasing shape." Or something like that.

If the going gets rough, all of a sudden the witness will disappear and a cockroach will quietly scuttle away from the witness stand.:)

7. Did you hear the guy they picked for jury...Timmy Russert's neighbor...used to play
racketball or something with Libby??? Didn't Cheney used to be Timmy's neighbor too?? This sounds pretty rigged to me.

8. Wha???
You're kidding, right?

Yes, you must be! Fitz would have a field day with that one.
Wishing the trial was televised.
Watching crash-cart wiggle and squirm, eyes cast downward,
the crooked smile, head tilted over the right shoulder...

So, you're saying, Lynne and Mary qualified as jurors?

9. I don't think they're actually picking the jurors yet. They are just
eliminating the "for cause" challenges. They eliminate those, then that leaves them a smaller group and they will use their "peremptory" challenges to whittle that group down to 12 plus however many extras (alternates) the judge wants to use.
