Why is Biden even running?
And who would consider voting for him? I may not like some of our other candidates but I understand why they have followers. Biden, I just don't get.

1. Why is Dodd running? Or Vilsack?
Because someone has to be the alternative to Edwards, Obama and Clinton!

I'll vote for him if he gets the nomination. *Chuckles*

 Sorry, I just couldn't help but laughing there.

3. Biden has an ego big enough to have its own gravitational field.
The most dangerous place in Washington, D.C. is the space between Joe and a TV camera. It figures that a guy who has elevated bloviation to the level of an art form and who is passionately fascinated with the sound of his own voice would feel compelled to run for President because it means even more people will have to pay attention to him.

It'll be a tough act to fill, though, but someone's gotta do it!

11. At least Kerry doesn't come as an egotistical ass hole
Kerry is years ahead of Biden - both as a politician and a person. Kerry's voting record itself proves that.

Biden is just the typical blowhard politician with no clue how to relate to anyone but people in the ruling class.

22. Kerry brought the only gravitas to this race.
Now it's just a 24/7 American Idol contest between the "charisma" and "star power" of Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and Barack Obama.

I have no enthusiasm for any of these shallow candidates.

24. You do realize that I can list more Hillary Clinton jokes gone
wrong, than you can list Senator Kerry ones. With Kerry, there is a grand total of ONE.

Senator Kerry is one of the most stateman like, serious Senators we have. He is not running now, so it might be a good time to respect him for who he is.

As to Biden - what I see is a feeding frenzy that is going to crowd out the debate on the Iraq resolutions. He is a smart guy with an overbearing, swarmy personality. His handling of the SFRC hearing has been absysmal.

27. How are they alike? Kerry only dropped a prounoun.
Edited on Thu Feb-01-07 03:12 PM by politicasista
Biden is the one making obnoxious, racially offensive comments. Kerry only dropped one word in a joke about Bush.

14. at the time he dropped out in 88 - he had been my favorite
times change, politicians change, and we change. I think that you are right that for him this run is unfinished business. At this point in time I am not very interested in Biden.

16. Funny - there have been countless posts questioning the wisdom of Obama running because
according to them, he can't win.

Yet yours is the first post I've seen raising a question about why Biden - whom everyone except Biden know can't win - is in the race.

Hmmmm.

Hey, if it's any consolation, this is the 4th time that Joe has formed an exploratory committee and announced he wants to be the President since 1988.
