If * Pardons Libby Before His Last Day In Office What Do You Think He'll Say To Justify The......
pardon? I'm just trying to be one step ahead of these criminals. Let's say that the judge in this Libby case says that Libby has to go to jail in June even though the appeal process could be stretched until * is ready to leave office. In that case it would put the pressure on * to pardon Libby while * still has a considerable amount of time left in office. What would be *'s justification for pardoning? What would * give as the excuse as to why he pardoned Libby?

He couldn't say that Libby was protecting the VP so I'm pardoning him.

He couldn't say that Libby is a patriot - because Libby is a convicted felon.

He couldn't say that Libby and his family has suffered enough - so I'm pardoning him.

He can't for once tell the truth and say that he's pardoning Libby in order to save his own ass or Cheney's ass.

He can't say that he's pardoning Libby for the troops? or to prevent a terror attack?

What possible justification can he give? I want to think this through ahead in order to close that door today. I want to take away any excuse that * would have to pardon Libby before he does.

We should all be thinking like Rove right now - two or three steps ahead of the other guy. We shouldn't allow any reason for a pardon. We should discredit anything and everything now to make it difficult for * to use the pardon card.

Let's close all doors for a pardon. Let's put the pressure on Libby to flip. Let's not them have a chance to use the 'get out of jail free' card.

Or, defend your actions. Bush truly is not interested in protecting his legacy or answering to anyone other than those that put him in office in the first place.

7. He's a sociopath
I wouldn't count on Bush to pardon anyone based on either empathy or responsibility. Libby better wake up and remember who he's dealing with, there's no guarantee of any pardon no matter what has been implied. Bush will put his 'legacy' first, count on it.

He won't offer a justification. He doesn't have to. Subtext: "Up yours"

And then he'll flip off the reporters as he rides off to Capitol Hill on his very last morning as Chimp In Chief.
