Waxman to hold hearings Plame/Libby/Cheney .... Ed Schultz 3/8/07
House Government Affairs Committee

Plame to testify.

Nothing posted about it yet but it will be.

These might be in place of John Conyers hearings ..... John Conyers called Ed to confirm
these hearings by Rep. Waxman.

1. Do you guys think that's why bush is going to Latin America
Maybe he is checking out that ranch he bought in Paraguay, making sure it is ready for habitation. Do they have extradition from there.

2. Wonder why it goes to Waxman...poor guy has hands full...
Shouldn't Judiciary be in charge? One good thing is that Waxman's House Oversight committee is getting all the evidence together in one place...makes it easier to connect all the dots.

3. I heard Conyers yesterday and he hinted that there would be hearings
... i thought @ the time that it was going to be Conyers.

I really don't know where the jurisdiction of the House Judiciary Committee
is and where the House Government Affairs Committee is.

4. Waxman's a bulldog.... and thank Goddess he is.
Conyer's apparently knew this was to be announced and thus couldn't speak about it yesterday. I have no doubt Conyers and Waxman are coordinating their many priority investigations...

Good on em. If our "democracy" has a chance of surviving, it will be because of men like these two.

5. I thought for sure it was going to Conyers
but I agree w/ you Waxman is tough and very careful too.

Lying to get us into a war and then the attacks on Plame/Wilson
and the rolling up of the CIA front company all cross the threshold
for impeachable acts.

6. Good point about "coordination." Maybe Judiciary can work on the
fine points legally but "Oversight Committee" can hold the hearings to gather the information.
