I Don't Want To Believe This About Mrs. Clinton's Campaign...
...but I'm a little weirded out.

For some days (weeks?), I saw regular posts on DU every few minutes stating some permutation of "Hillary is Unstoppable! Resistance is Futile!". Whether it was about the latest endorsement by a Midwest politician I'd never heard of (no offense, but I'm a New Englander), or some cockamamie poll in which more people would vote for Hillary than would vote for Obama's used jockstrap. These posts were by several authors.

All of the sudden, ALL of these posts seemed to have stopped simultaneously in the last day or two.

Somebody please disabuse me of this observation before I begin to think it's an orchestrated campaign by the Clinton campaign to go after DU's netizens, and they suddenly changed strategy. Just seems odd - but I could well be mistaken. I hope that I am.

Anyone else notice this?

14. LOL - as if DU is a hotbed of Hillary support. Many folks feel Hillary is not first choice but
would be a fine president.

I wonder if usual 99 to one Obama posting ratio was less for a few days - that would be suspicious and a cause for concern. Indeed I saw TWO pro Edwards posts today - I think there is an Edwards attack starting!

:-)

2. How odd
you believe all sorts of nonsense about the Clinton campaign, but this imagined issue is the one you DON'T want to believe?

7. OK

Here you assert that Clinton is feeding smears to the press about Obama.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=3179222&mesg_id=3179225

Here you assert that supporters of Clinton here on DU are paid shills:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=3189428&mesg_id=3189442

So you're already on record as saying at least some Clinton supporters here are paid shills, then you post THIS thread saying you don't want to believe it. That's dishonest.

And this whole thread is pure flamebait anyway.

11. Almost Good Points
In the first instance, I didn't name Mrs. Clinton - why did you think I meant her?

In the second instance, I said that I had a distinct feeling that there were paid hillshills on DU. No proof. That's perfectly consistent with this thread, where I'm still saying that I have no proof - but the coincidence, if real (not imagined) is giving me an even-distincter feeling.

(FWIW, I'm getting some of the same feeling from Edwards' people too - but not nearly as much. And no, I'm not particularly pro-Obama, although he hasn't done anything that I know of to eviscerate the US Middle Class, which does set him apart from Clinton and Edwards).

13. do you deny
that you were referring to clinton in the first example?

You're disingenuous.

And this thread IS flamebait, implying that people who support clinton here do so under the direct control of the campaign. It's wrong, it's offensive, it's flamebait.

5. It certainly is partly orchestrated, however, what freaked me out last week was ,,,
Jim McGovern's endorsement of Hillary Clinton. I could not make any sense of it.

This said, she is clearly a very strong candidate that should not be dismissed, but the fundraising numbers show that Obama did apparently nearly as well, and Edwards hold his own, which may partly explain why you see so many posts these days.

9. Have no fear, the "orchestration" at DU continues.......
Edited on Mon Apr-02-07 10:02 PM by Alamom

but, I don't think it's coming from the outside. :eyes:

At this moment, Senator Clinton's name is in the title of 7 of the last 20 OP's.

There are pro & con posts in each OP, as usual. Nothing is different. Nothing has changed...
a few new "techniques" at smearing the Senator, but hey, that's not new or innovative, just....desperation.

It's not my style, but if it helps, "Resistance is Futile!".

16. From 9pm to 11 - your post - there've been my two post plus this one on Hillary
none of the 3 posts were pro-Hillary.

I did post on her volunteering for the Marines in 75 - which I thought interesting in that it showed a positive attitude toward the military - one that I have let be known that I have for the last 6 years on DU.

Of my last 4 posts on Hillary 3 of the 4 have been to register disappointment with her non pro single payer health position. Which I have also stated about Obama who has the same fear of insurance companies - apparently.

I agree - the most common post on Hillary is the smear with no basis in fact.

But I am unhappy with her and Obama ducking single payer health.

10. It's obvious to me
that the OP has "I Need More Attention" issues and will say or do anything to get people to notice him/her/it. Bes to Ignore and move on with one's life ... which is more than one can say for the OP. Bet your bottom dollar he/she/it will have more anti-something dribble to Post in the future.

There's no telling what they're up to. I wonder what the sudden shift in strategy could mean. It seems so ominous. And scary.

Be afraid....be very afraid....

19. My observation is DU is pro-Obama and virulently anti-Hillary
I just joined DU and I find I am constantly replying to anti-Hillary threads that paint her as an evi ldemon.

I am a Hillary fan.
I trust she will fix a lot of the mess we are in. I can't even say that about Edwards.

But, Obama,,,,Obama.......they love him so much. And all I see is a religous guy whose male dominated male religious language really rubs me raw.
He even just said that art that offends religion is not his thing. Check this out:

20. DU is far less "anti-Hillary" than other Democratic or left-leaning sites.

And as far as the "No one can win but Hillary" threads disappearing, uh... ... there is currently one on here that basically tells us to call it off; that Ms. Clinton has it in the bag. That's it's a done deal.

If you think DU is anti-Hillary ------ you don't participate in many leftie websites.

21. No, I don't get on many leftie websites
I have just cruised Buzzflash and now DU. I really like it.
Yes, I saw the "HIllary has it in the bag " thread. I defended her to an anti Hilary poster. I thought it was started by a Hillary fan who is nervous about Barack raising a lot of money.

I have nothing against the guy - really. He is a great guy. I just think he needs more experience. Global Warming and Iran and Israel nuking it out really worries me.

I don't know if Barack has the stuff.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=3190773&mesg_id=3190773

I don't like it when people complain about her voice. I mean, my goodness, can we look at her experience, what she's done, who she brings to the table, and not her voice?

So distressing.
