2. No
For someone who does the business of the people it should not be extrordinary.

It should be Standard Operating Procedure.

3. It's the "vast courage" part that's an accomplishment.
There are lots of principles that you can stand up for that cost very little. There are others that can cost a great deal.

Think Supporting Gay Marriage in the Senate for an example of the latter.

4. An interesting thought
considering the discussion my wife and I were having last night. Just how many Christians have been fed to the lions as of late?

I saw yesterday on Scarborough (who I rarely watch, so I'm done for the next 5 years) a part about a young actor who was "born again" (religiously as well as career-wise) and found himself working on the Left Behind series and obviously doing rather well.

These new Christians talk about embracing Jesus and you'll be on easy street. I don't recall Jesus saying that in any of his sermons or parables.

5. If it were easy everyone would do it?

6. It is, but shouldn't be. That's one of the strangest things about supporting Congressman Kucinich.
What he says and stands for shouldn't be weird or fringe, it is the basis of all the major religions that something like 85% of Americans claim to believe in. It is dong what is right even when it is not easy, and not too long ago that was a fundamental American value.

Standing up for principles should be the least we expect from leaders, not exceptional.

7. Did you have someone in mind when you started this poll? Just curious.
I am trying to guess who it is.
