Barring another stolen election...a Democrat will be President in 2008
Mark my words! As I was watching the Rethug debate last night, I couldn't help but to spit up several times. Are these 10 guys (well 9 if you exclude Ron Paul) even thinking about the General Election?? It seems like it was a huge right-wing panderfest (which I don't care about because it'll make our jobs easier). You have the Top 3 and others supporting a nuclear strike on IRAN!!! Guiliani acting like it's 2003 and 2004, as if the country still supports his position. Romney playing a game of "spin around the question." McCain, I'm convinced, won't get the nomination because nobody in his party would even vote for him. Ron Paul got several light applauses, but I'm convinced he's largely talking to a deaf base. Besides, the Powers-That-Be would never nominate him anyway.

Then, you have Fred Thompson...who looks like a f*ck up waiting to happen. Already getting scrutinized because he can't put together several sentences in an interview. And people are already saying he's rather lazy. But he's the next Reagan... :sarcasm:  :eyes:

1. We will see.
I think you are right that it is going to be hard for any Democratic candidate to lose, but I refuse to underestimate the nefariousness of the Republican machine.

3. And there is a track record of Democrats stealing a loss from the jaws of victory
And frankly, I don't even expect to get a chance to cast a meaningful vote in the primary.

2. No doubt if we actually have an election that we will have a
Democrat. The Republican Party is DOA. However, this doesn't preclude martial law and Bush or another Rethug being installed as dictator. The OIL people are setting this up, I believe, because they have already completed a lot of their plan to control all the oil in the world. Their next plan is to control all the water on our planet.

4. "barring another stolen election"...
that may be the biggest hurdle.

5. I would like to agree. But I think of the media control, the "terra alert" tool,
another "boots on the ground"-patriotism event (Iran), the zealotry of the right-wing "Christians" on gay marriage, abortion, prayer in schools, creationism and the apathy of people who should vote Democratic. The media hatred for Mrs. Clinton, Edwards, Obama and the others (Gore for sure), that it will be very hard. We can't expect anything except corruption with the voting machines and Rove-directed voter suppression.

6. Depends on the democratic candidate
the GOP is DOA, none of them have a chance, EXCEPT Ron Paul, but luckily, he won't get through the primary

If the dems put up Edwards, Clinton, Biden or Dodd, it will probably be a third party victory. I fear Chuck Hagel in that role. I wouldn't mind Bloomberg.

Gore is a slam dunk, Clark if he could get through the primary is as well... Obama would make for a very VERY interesting race.

7. Just how many stolen elections will America tolerate?
Edited on Wed Jun-06-07 01:24 PM by baldguy
As long as the corporate media is complicit, as many as the GOP can produce.
