Support for Bush slipping in Kansas.

As the pro-Bush Wichita Eagle on Tuesday called on President Bush to “face reality” and “redeploy” U.S. troops out of Iraq, staunch Bush ally Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) also qualified his support for the war, stating that his support for Bush’s policy is “not locked into concrete: “We have to make some very tough decisions… We can’t continue to be engaged in a war which the American people do not support.”

1. How about that Katrina-like response to the tornadoes? How'd THAT work for ya?
KANSAS TORNADO RENEWS DEBATE ON GUARD AT WAR

May 9, 2007, Wednesday
By SUSAN SAULNY AND JIM RUTENBERG; SUSAN SAULNY REPORTED FROM CHICAGO, AND JIM RUTENBERG FROM WASHINGTON. REPORTING WAS CONTRIBUTED BY MAUREEN BALLEZA, STEVE BARNES, MALCOLM GAY, CHRISTOPHER MAAG, ADAM NOSSITER, LIBBY SANDER, THOM SHANKER AND JENNIFER STEINHAUER. (NYT); National Desk
Late Edition - Final, Section A, Page 1, Column 1, 1407 words

DISPLAYING ABSTRACT - Tornado that destroyed Greensburg, Kansas, highlights warnings from governors that their state National Guards are ill-prepared for local disasters because of large deployments of solders and equipment in Iraq and Afghanistan; for nearly two days after tornado struck, there were not nearly enough heavy machinery or National Guard troops necessary; it was not until three days later that significant numbers of military vehicles began to arrive, many streaming in long caravan from Wichita, about 100 miles away; Gov Kathleen Sebelius's comments about slow response prompted debate with White House which initially blamed her for failing to request equipment; debate was reminiscent of Bush administration's skirmishes with Louisiana Gov Kathleen Babineaux Blanco after Hurricane Katrina; after angry flurry of words, both sides backed down; Sebelius says she has enough equipment and personnel to deal with problem, while White House acknowledges that her initial request was properly made; Federal Emergency Management Agency, which was harshly criticized for its response after Hurricane Katrina, appears to have acted more quickly in Greensburg; complaints from governors about shortages of troops in other states discussed

3. Someone call me when Johnson County gets a clue
As far as I know my parents and most of Johnson County are still 100% Bushbots.

It makes me sick to hear they still support Bush, so I don't even bother to ask any more.

8. I live in in south Johnson County
It's still heavily Repub here, but a lot of my neighbors have had it with Bush. My neighbor actually saw the light before the 2004 election, but I'd say he's an exception. Still, I don't see near as many "W" stickers on the SUVs lately, and I even saw a Ron Paul yard sign yesterday.

4. As the bodies pile up and foreclosures put people on the street
even the most devoted Bush supporter in Kansas can't help but notice.

7. Not to mention the coming eruption when all the scurrying around
and shoring up with doctored reports that the arch republican financial operatives have been doing ceases to be effective and the "investor class" gasps and yanks its money-as much as possible-out of the mortgage/securities market.
Ooooh-thats gonna convert a bunch of hopefuls when they get punched right in the wallet.

6. Roberts is in this vulture vomit up to his ears.
He's as darkly evil as is cheney. His real view of democrats is the wingy equivalent of the respect with which I view him.

His bloody hands have strangled the flow of sensitive information-important, decision making information-to the democratic side of the legislature and are still manipulating the access.
The only real difference between the Roberts of the majority and Roberts of the minority is that he's been keeping a lower profile.
Keeping a lower profile, for him, means he's up to even more devious, anti-American shit.

His newly found slightly more moderate tone is an attempt at distancing himself and adding insulation for the storm that is going to boil when the rushing tide of backwash from the treasonously incompetent 'Gimme only Porno' party's mismanagement comes crashing in on us.

If that man came to my house, I'd be sure to send my wife away, lock up my cats and pet snakes, and teach my dog to walk sideways.
