1. It's pretty consistent from poll to poll.
Sorry Zennie, I'm not buying it.

2. Although I find the claim easy to believe, the video doesn't make much of a case.
The only conclusion I can make from the video is that one can run the same poll multiple times and get different answers.

Thanks not my definition of "rigging".

3. How can Obama outraise Clinton - with more donors and still not win polls?
June 5th Obama tied Clinton and then 7 days later Frank Newport had the poll redone -- out of character for USAToday/Gallup. They couldn't believe there were people out there who would select Obama over Clinton given all the past polling. So they selected a different sample with a different sample size.

You know who allows this outrage. You do.

Send emails of concern to Gallup, CNN, MSNBC, USAToday/Gallup and sending Frank Newport your emails of concern.

This is concerning procedure - I don't think I would call it "rigged" unless he can prove that they collected a bias sample the second time out.

I can't find a link to his earlier post...

4. pure BS
his argument is they did another poll with a bigger sample and got a different result. That's not evidence of "rigging" anything.

5. Here is Zennie's post - more information...
June 17th USA Today/Gallup Rigged - Redone to Put Clinton Ahead

OK. Get this. Just get this. Two weeks ago, Senator Barack Obama was tied -- that's right, tied -- with Senator Hillary Clinton for the 2008 Democratic Presidential race in the then latest USA Today / Gallup Poll. Now, USA Today / Gallup didn't do a poll in May, and certainly not two weeks apart, but this new one says that Senator Clinton has a large lead.

<snip>

This is what the USA Today's "Gallup Guru" , Frank Newport, reported in his blog - the smoking gun, in part, is here:

Thursday, June 14, 2007

Clinton, Obama, immigration and Russian attitudes

New polling data from several survey organizations – including pending data from Gallup -- make it clear that Sen. Hillary Clinton is maintaining or strengthening her lead for the presidential nomination over Sen. Barack Obama among Democrats. Our early June USA Today/Gallup poll showed the two tied, as discussed here and here. But that finding apparently did not signify a significant change in the structure of the race. The latest polls from the Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg and Wall Street Journal/NBC show Clinton in her accustomed role as leader when Democrats are asked whom they want to be their party’s nominee. It looks as if the June 1-3 USA Today/Gallup poll either picked up a short term change, or as noted here, was a function of unusual sampling which happened to pick up Democrats who were more pro-Obama than the underlying population.

We have a Gallup poll now in the field, with results to be reported early next week. Preliminary indications are that this poll will find Clinton back in her typical leadership position as she has been for the most part this year.

What? In other words, Whoops! We can't believe the outcome, so we've got to talk to a new set of people and get the outcome we want. We can't -- just can't -- be forced to report that Senator Obama is tied with Senator Clinton.

9. Yes, it's all rigged
there is a big conspiracy to elect Hillary as the next president. Evil, evil people belong to it and they have passwords, underground meetings in bunkers, a secret handshake and everything.

And there is also a hairy creature named "Glog" who hangs outside below your bedroom window at night and watches you.... watches you..... watches you....

11. Some in here are taking this thread
all wrong, this was discuss the polling not the candidates,if the polls are being rigged as in the video he says "We have no fricking idea of what is going on" this is why I made the thread, This video is not for or against ANY ONE CANDIDATE.

If the title said "USA Today Gallup Poll Rigged To Favor Obama" I still would have made the thread.

13. Very interesting...
hmmm...I wonder if that's why Bush's poll numbers are also supposedly *up* for no apparent reason this week, according to Gallup?

That one sure had me scratching my head. What's Bush done lately that would justify a 3% increase in popularity? Strikes me as bizarre.

15. well that sounds within a margin of error, now the point is
if he goes up again 3% or so, and nothing good has come out for his Administration you know they're just fabbing the #'s... the only # I believe anymore are the ones on here, b/c I feel DU doesn't rig polls that we post. I think they use the national polls as a way to condition us by fudging with the #'s sometimes... I dunno.. but I can't believe Democrats would want Hillary as President, as a majority, I really don't, I would think more want Obama or Edwards, but that's on here.

I guess when Gore gets in at the end of Sept. (ha) we'll be reading Gore 40%, Hillary 20%, Obama 15%, Edwards 12% - I think a lot of folks want Gore who are backing Hillary right now b/c of the Clinton Era love.... I'm still hopeful for John though to rise, but I'll be very happy about Gore if he enters, or CLARK!

18. I disagree
Gore will enter at the end of October, :) and Gore as we know has fought for a full Hand Count in the state of Florida, which shows that he (Gore) fought to make every vote count.

Gore/Kucinich and or Kennedy.

But I will accept whoever Gore picks.

26. Gore/Clark
A landslide that would have large coat-tails to elect a solidly Democratic Congress.

Only question would be whether they would get 70% of the vote or not.....:-)

17. Kennedy? If Kennedy enters the race it would be to complicated
for me, right now it's a simple choice because there is only ONE candidate with the BALLS not only to fight for my vote, but is willing to fight for my RIGHT to count that vote WITH MY OWN HANDS.

Kennedy, like Kucinich would have no trouble fighting for my my vote and my right to count that vote.

The bright side, I would then have a choice between two candidates. :)

14. Another example of shoddy research from a desperate person

Yes, USA Today / Gallup Poll DID do a poll in May, they did TWO in May, and they WERE two weeks apart. USA Today / Gallup has been doing two polls a month on the Democratic presidential race since March. Other than one outlier poll showing the race tied, everything in his first paragraph is a lie.

Source: http://www.pollingreport.com/wh08dem.htm

The critical eye would have a question. I've got several. But the bottom line is the second round of polling was rigged. Why? Because someone didn't like the outcome and doesn't want Senator Barack Obama to win, so they immediately ordered another poll and worked to obtain results they wanted to see.

The above simply falls apart in light of my first revelation - that USA Today / Gallup HAS been doing two polls a month since March. USA Today / Gallup certainly MAY have raised on eyebrow at the results of the June 1 poll because no other poll was showing such a bounce for Obama. Polling organizations ALWAYS analyze their findings. But they didn't "order another poll and work to obtain the results they wanted to see." They simply began preparations and then carried out the second poll for the month, the same as they'd done for the last three months.

Interestingly, "Zennie" offers no explanation for Obama's sudden 9 point jump in the June 1 poll. He doesn't even mention it (because he wanted us to believe there was no poll in May when there was, in fact, TWO), but to accuse USA Today and Gallup of "rigging" a poll against Obama without a shred of evidence and based entirely on the fact he got excited about an outlier poll only to see his hopes dashed when the next poll came out is simply desperate.

As Frank Newport said, and "Zennie' quoted him, NO OTHER POLLS that week showed the results the June 1 USA Today / Gallup poll did. Not the Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg and Wall Street Journal/NBC polls, not Rasmussen.

Sorry, folks. If you believe this guy, you're desperate and you've been duped.

Zennie may have been able to sell that equation had we not found out The Obama Store is partially funding his campaign..
And if WyldWolf hadn't provided a death thrall analysis of Zennie's miscalculations.. :)

Zennie, buying a hat and a bumper sticker doesn't equal 2 votes for Obama.
