2. Unions are becoming an endangered species
Without organized labor, there would be no middle class. We are moving backwards so rapidly that we'll blink and be back in the 19th century.

Thanks for the video.

6. WHile some unions are good, others milk the system and its paying members dry too.
Ultimately, I must agree with the term "unions are a necessary evil".

9. Sadly, this is true.
Over the years, many unions got a bad reputation for corruption, violence, and mob-ties. It is a shame that we live in a society where unions are necessary for workers to get a fair deal. They need protection from greedy corporations, but often they also need protection from unscrupulous union leaders as well.

4. 'Have listened to Biden a good handful of times addressing labor groups.

On C-span, for example, the camera will often span the audience. I take a look at their faces as they listen to Biden speak.

He holds them with every syllable. There is genuine respect in their faces for Joe Biden.

I think he'd do just fine in the working folks demographic, in part because he has a pro-Labor lifetime AFL/CIO rating of 85%. Fred Thompson's last ratings year in the Senate was 2002 and his lifetime AFL/CIO rating was 8%. McCain's most recent year -- 2006 -- was 17%. Stand either of those Puke ratings against Biden's 85% and you get the notion that Labor might fare pretty well under a Biden administration and not well at all under any given Puke.

Ted Kennedy's lifetime Laobor rating is 93% I believe. John Kerry's is 91%. Richardson's is 88%; Dodd is 91%; HClinton's is 93%; Obama's 96%, with Edwards and Kucinich leading the pack at 97%.

If you really want to get depressed, look up any Republican member of Congress and get their rating on Labor. It'll bring you way down in a big hur.

5. Biden has been supportive of unions for over 34 years !
His lifetime voting record of 370 Right and 66 Wrong is most realistic. No other candidate has more Right votes. Labor's position was not always right. I know, I was a CIO member when Phillip Murray was their president. So I go back a long way.

7. Nader was a consumer advocate 30 years ago too.
I haven't watched that video, but people can change over time.

8. Nader never cast a vote, what's your point ?
Biden was and is a strong supporter of the Labor Movement. Last year he voted 93% pro labor, same as Kucinich, Clinton and Obama. What's your beef?
