Evangelicals Disappointed, but Faith Not Shaken in GOP
"If we don't get our act together, we could lose our voice," he said. "Some of the more moderate evangelicals could be swayed."

Beam noted that Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., had hired a full-time consultant to help her speak to evangelical audiences and that Democrats are looking for ways to pick up votes in the community.

Most of them expressed alarm about Rudy Giuliani, who is an abortion-rights advocate and a moderate on social issues. They predicted that if he won the nomination, many evangelicals would sit out the election.

"If they take the abortion issue off the table , then other issues get oxygen like economic justice and the environment," said Land. "They will have given the Democratic candidate a license to go after evangelicals on those issues."

"If Giuliani wins the nomination, we're moving away," said Beam, who supports former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. "It's a sign that the party is no longer lining itself up in any way for the evangelical community."

Reinforces that I believe those who follow these "Evangelical" leaders and listen to them tout the GOP are SUCKERS!

9. They weren't punked
They got two fairly young Supreme Court Justices, and dozens of federal court appointments that will control the direction of the courts for decades. Most I know (my family, for example) are fairly happy about what Bush delivered to them.

Where you going to go to chump? Seriously, where is he going to (or where is he leaving from?)

It can't be leaving the country? They shit themselves silly before leaving the (God Bless the) USA. Leaving the state. YES! THEY ALL GO TO TEXAS. Wait...poor non-fundie texans.

On edit: and why is Rudy so disgusting to them? The divorces? The Cross dressing PR stunt? The (GASP!) Catholicism???

It almost makes me want for Rudy to get the nomination.

12. I would like to see Rudy get the nom just to force the GOPers to
have to abandon their family-values evangelical bullshit. The country would be better off.

6. How tragic for them: to get into heaven, they made a deal with the devil.
It's exactly as self-defeating as it sounds.

7. The great thing about faith is it doesn't require facts or reason.
Just acceptance.
