The annual 911 circle jerk has ended, time to do what you said you would do
Edited on Thu Sep-13-07 08:31 AM by niceypoo
Remember separation of powers and the co-equal branch of government called the US Congress? Now, we expect the republicans to choose partisan interests ahead of constitutional duty, it is what traitors do, but the democrats have no excuses for not citing Harriet Miers, Josh Bolton and Karl Rove as we were promised. They assured us they would do so after the August recess. Well guess what folks, the August recess has ended and, '911 circle jerk 2007,' is over. We really need to start turning up the pressure.

I have posted on this matter several times lately and many in the DU seem content to roll over and shrug it off and let it go with a frustrated comment or two. This is largely due to scandal fatigue. This is the big one folks. This is the do or die one. This is the one that makes or breaks our democracy. This is the best chance we have, short of impeachment, to take back our government. Don't take, "We will do it in a month or so," for an answer. We heard that in July. The longer it is delayed the less likely it is to happen.

1. Too late

House Democratic leaders have decided to postpone a vote on a criminal contempt resolution against White House chief of staff Joshua Bolten and former White House counsel Harriet Miers for several weeks, and possibly longer, according to top lawmakers and aides.

The decision delays any constitutional showdown, at least for the moment, between Congress and President Bush over the extent of executive privilege and the president’s ability to fend off congressional investigations.

2. The "gutless wonders" that are our Democratic Leadership in The Congress have sold-out
to The Military Industrial Complex again. More of our youth and tax dollars are "ripe for the taking" by these evil people who specialize in DEATH and DESTRUCTION.

Words can not describe how disappointed I am with Our Democratic Leaders within The Congress. :grr:

3. as long as the delay is to get all our ducks in a row
Fine. However, I will be disappointed if this is still on the backburner a month from now.

4. This is what the democrats want to do with it, apparently
They want it to die. They want it to go long enough that the GOP dusts off their old, "this is old news," chestnut.

How did we get stuck with such a pack of wimps?
