Democratic strategy
I am a long time lurker at DU and a very occasional poster. I usually only post when things are feeling hopeless and I need a way to vent my frustrations. This is one of those times (another on!). I am frustrated beyond belief with the the Dems lack of vision. I can't get too upset with their day-to-day ineptitude or clumsiness because they are in the fight. What bothers me is that the Democrats don't have a clear, understandable, long range overarching vision of what the United States of America will look like under their control. I wouldn't mind losing battles if I knew my leaders were focused on winning the war.

Do we need a single strong leader to present a clear message? Do we need a "council" of Democratic leaders to coordinate strategy? Do we need better access to the public soapbox? All of the above?

1. Do they (we?) really think that John Q. Public gives a rats ass
about a long term vision for the country?
I do. You do. But we're not "normal."
I think most politicians recognize this, certainly Dems do. It is the disconnect between the Dem base and the "leadership." Like what happened in the last Senatorial race in Connecticut when the base threw out Lieberman in the primary but the general population put him back in.

2. A short range vision would tickle me pink!
Impeachment shouldn't take very long considering all of the crimes committed by the bfee!

3. Sure they do. Government has a role to play when the market fails to deliver.

We need expertise and professionalism in government. You know, competency. :yoiks:

4. This canard again?
Are there really people who still don't believe the vision of Gore or Kerry is significantly different and superior to what we have now.

Don't post much. I bet not.
