Engineering, Labor, IEEE-USA teams up with Corporate Lobbyists
For all of you aware of the IEEE-USA as a professional society or concerned about US Professional jobs, labor issues, offshore outsourcing, insourcing (displacement of US professionals by flooding the supply, guest worker Visas, H-1B, L-1), getting a US Bachelors degree, getting into college....this is a must read with a request to sign a Petition. If you are concerned generally with immigration being used to flood labor markets, this is also a must read (as well as national interests, security, espionage).

Avoid reading and directly to petition:

If you are a member of any engineering professional society, this is really a must read so you know what they are up to.

1. For years, the prime message of IEEE was curtailing H-1B visas
Does this article say that native Americans are being denied acceptance to graduate programs? Or is it that the native Americans are not applying?

2. don't know
I can't find the breakdown of rejected US citizens versus foreign applicants but given the fact that graduate applications cost at least $100 bucks, you must take the GRE, get recommendations and the minimum GPA and other requirements are already known...I doubt that there are that many out of bounds applications. These are people who already have a BS degree so those rejection rates while they claim to have a shortage seem very out of line.

People also are not going into STEM because they know it's a target for labor arbitrage, offshore outsourcing,
so who wants to study their ass off and go into massive debt to have their difficult careers cut short at age 35?

But, the numbers are still significant, I mean rejecting 80% of all graduate school applications you know there are qualified people, qualified Americans in that rejection pile...it's just too damn high in terms of overall rejection numbers. I'd really like to see the entire breakdown myself but I couldn't find it.
