Edwards Statement on Senate Confirmation of Southwick Nomination
Edwards Statement on Senate Confirmation of Southwick Nomination
John Edwards for President
Wednesday, October 24, 2007

----
Chapel Hill, North Carolina – Senator John Edwards released the following statement in response to the Senate's confirmation of Leslie Southwick to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit:

"I am very disappointed that the Senate voted to confirm Leslie Southwick to the federal bench this morning. His record suggests that he will be responsible for a raft of decisions against the interests of workers, consumers and the civil rights of all Americans. Federal judges should understand and enforce the full range of Americans' constitutional protections, but Judge Southwick fails that standard."

3. Yeah-you're right and I hosed it....
I was responding to a string of posts, in this case extolling Edwards. I was trying to express that no string of statements from any candidate will motivate me until someone actually takes on the regime. Mea Culpa.

4. Well said.
Hey, we all get on a tear sometimes. I thumped on you pretty hard on that thread you started; hope you see the second part as a reference to the Cat's afternoon.

Many points for bein' a mensch about it; stick around, it's an interesting place.

Give him a second look, though: he's a good guy.
