Governor seeks divine intervention to get some rain
Invitations going out for prayer service at Capitol on Tuesday

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 11/07/07

With no rain in sight, GA Gov. Sonny Perdue is looking for a little spiritual help to get North Georgia out of its drought.

Perdue's office has begun sending out invitations to a prayer service for rain at the Capitol next week.

The service is scheduled for Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. on the Washington Street side of the statehouse.

Heather Teilhet, his spokeswoman, said the governor began talking about wanting to host a service to pray for rain on his way back from Washington D.C. last week. He was in D.C. meeting with federal officials and the governors of Alabama and Florida to discuss the region's water crisis.

2. No doubt, he'll be hiring some Injuns to do a rain dance.
Toss in a few pagan rituals, and he'll have all the bases covered.

With, of course, the exception of doing something with any meaning or substance.

3. Prayer is free
Doing something might cost money, and it might cost some of his overrich, fatcat backers some money. And that is strictly verboten for Republicans. But by jingo, Georgia will kill off millions before a single magnolia wilts at Augusta National.

7. doesn't Dumbya have a hot line to God???
And remember to the bible-thumpers God isn't punishing them, but testing them ... if God was doing this to punish He would be doing it to other people.

8. Work/think for Solutions as opposed to Pray for Solutions??? Prayer is free and Work is not.
But....what works and what doesn't?

9. He can pray but he does not think to suggest that the state
build a few desalination plants to help provide for the water needs of the major cities for the state? Makes me wonder how he managed to get elected to a 2nd term.
